Because these things are crazy expensive and the flight costs have gone down so much that they are much cheaper, safer, practical, and cost efficient than these trains.

@@xirsixussien7303 Yes, but if you only use the magnets as counterweights and ensure the poles constantly repel, you only need a relay and and alternator to start storing electricity. The higher the mass and resistance, the more effective it would be. Straight up magnetism, but very similar in principle.

I'm assuming it's a joke, but in truth they can't because like trains used by high-speed rail the streamlining is to direct the air out of the train's way. The drag coefficient of the fastest MAGLEV makes a Tesla look like a brick. I guess they could utilize a wrap to give the illusion of a steam train. BTW, Japan's PM during Obama's presidency offered to build the MAGLEV run in the northeast corridor for free utilizing their Chūō Shinkansen. I do believe it was discussed and went nowhere. Now they have Acela, while Japan can claim to be the record holder for fastest train. The route in Japan using the CS will open next year.

How do they take break?
It's hard to explain it in a non technical manner but I will try. Imagine you have two magnets, and they attract. Some materials kinda turn into a magnet when you apply electric current. So you turn the thing on and it attracts the train if the poles are opposite. But if you turn it on and the poles are opposite, it repeals, making the train go slower (braking).

it is an airport express, it wasn't expanded due to costly build price and unnecessary fast speed. (they figured it out that it is far more viable to build a slow metro line with like 15 stations than a high speed line with only 2 terminus stations)
