Those cases were supplied with the camera from new. I've just picked up a Sureshot Supreme from my local camera fair for £2, fully working :-) These were brilliant in their day and a lot of press photographers bought them as an emergency carry-around.
I bought one of these for my wife when they first came out as she always struggled using my 35mm cameras. It was prolly in the plus £100 region, and that would have been 1986...and I have to admit they are good cameras. I think a new battery was about £8, but they lasted ages.
Hi Damian, I have almost the same story about this camara. I found this camara in a Charity Shop for only £0.50 :D suddenly I start googling about the features of this camara and found this video. I was having struggles to find were the battery goes but thanks for the video now I now where it needs to go. I bought in the UK, north west England.
+Damian Brown I just saw that includes batteries but I don't know if this batteries still work. I going to buy a film hoping that the batteries are charged. Thanks!
Compré una de esas por 50 pesos mexicanos en un mercado y aún contiene el rollo fotográfico la cámara está en perfectas condiciones y contiene su estuche.
Hey Damian, a bit late to the party but after I watched this splendid video I went and got me this camera! I remembered that my grandma had this one and I used it sometimes. Unfortunately the camera isn‘t working properly. It isn‘t shooting, I get a little green light in the view finder after i put the battery in and then, nothing. As it was dead. Film loading and rewinding is working, film count also. I read that it could be a problem with the shutter button having no contact anymore, so I put some aluminum foil underneath it after I carefully cleaned the area with some contact spray and a q-tip. Still not working. Hope you are reading this, thanks in advance. Also thank you for your great content :)
Hi Mitch, sorry for such a late reply. Hmmm sounds like a shutter problem to me too but I'm not sure what to suggest beyond what you've tried. In these two months were you able to find a solution?
It's a nice camera but I dislike some aspects of the design (shutter button, flash operation, film rewind). It is also quite problem prone as I have discovered. Mine will only fire once or twice then refuses.
Hey I just got this camera a few days ago and I’m new to film photography. My problem so far is everytime I try to take a picture I can only take one and after that the camera makes this grinding noise when’re I turn it on and I’m not longer able to take any pictures
Hey, wondered if you could give me some advice please? I have the Canon Sure Shot EX, 35mm, which I’ve had for a few years. I changed the film and its since stopped taking pictures. So I replaced the battery but it still won’t take a picture. Do you have any advice? Many thanks
I have the same camera and it is in a very good condition with batteries that was stored in it for years but it is not working at all could the batteries be recharged or should I look for a new one ? hope you could help
I got a mint one in a charity shop today for £2 ...battery from eBay is on its way ...has an old film in it I can't remove ..I think with a battery it will hopefully let me take the old film out .
@@DamianBrown battery tested it today and it's working perfectly as far as I can tell. Man the flash button off switch is hard to use. But otherwise it's quite a nice point and shoot
Too much battery dependent shit to go wrong. I have a Cosmic Symbol no batteries and it works fine. I have a Canon Sureshot zoom 70 which will not load It just whirrs. Bought camera for £1.Battery cost £4. Still a pos. I you want it contact me in Gloucestershire uk through youtube.

It's of mom's age camera, she gave it to me in childhood. I found it today.
Hi Damian! Would you mind if i ask to see some your fotos of this camera? I also have the same one.
Just dug mine out after many years, still film in it !

I hear you! Mine hasn't been used in a while to be fair.
I just picked up one of these for $2.00 and I’m excited to use it
Bargain
I have a similar camera, except it's a Topshot Quartz Date and not a Sureshot Supreme.

Sound like the motor is gone, if it's not winding on and effectively freezing up.
This sounds very similar to the problem I have with mine.

I'm away from mine for another month, is everything clean inside or maybe dust or wear and tear has seized it up? Sorry!

You can find new ones on Ebay or amazon. They are called 2CR5 batteries.
This could have been the next Olympus Mju (In terms of popularity) if not for the weird flash button.
True!
What film does this require
First film camera
35mm 100-400 is your best bet

Came out in 1996, I don’t think so, I had one of these in 1988. Stop making things up!
1986 actually. It was a "typo". Why would I make this up?
