Great review. Shame about the firmware flaws. Hopefully they can correct them and you can confirm with a a follow up video. My JVC RS-10 is finally starting to fail and I'm either going to get an 85" TV or another projector. My budget is under $2,000 USD, and for a 100" screen in a fully light controlled room this projector could be ideal. I'll finally decide when Black Friday rolls around.
I won’t be making any follow up videos, this is it for me as I have to move on. But if they update the unit and I am aware of it I will make a note in the comments of this video
Yes I have had several RBG laser UST projectors to review, I have the AWOL Vision 3500 Pro as my reference and I have seen the benefit of that to wide colour and brightness and clarity and that is why the Dangbei is so surprising for how good it is from single laser .
@@mohamed.khaldi I had one here and talk about the differences in the video the Dangbei has the edge on picture and its running googletv which is a better platform. The XGIMI Horizon Ultra is nicer looking and has Dolby Vision which is better so its priorities for the user.
The moment I saw the projector, I had a hunch we'd be off to RA's demo room! 😉 It would be nice if projectors like these (and the other short-throw models you've featured) were available with or without a choice of various TV streaming services.
To be honest I can only review these because I can get access to their room otherwise I wouldn’t be able to do it as I don’t have the right conditions at home anymore. I don’t have a screen or anywhere to really put one. The streaming platform you don’t have to use it, you only install the apps you want to use the same as your phone. But it makes sense to use it here I think as google tv is a good solution and I was told it’s being used in a lot of new TVs too which is interesting to know.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem I was only teasing about the demo room - it's great that they are happy for you to use it. I always enjoy the content you shoot there.
Not specifically but I haven’t asked about them. I did report them. To be honest I don’t use the projector all the time to know if there have been any firmware updates since my video. I review more hifi gear so don’t have a display for that. Sorry I can’t help right now.
For my particular setup, this would be one for the shortlist, providing it can pass an Atmos signal, of course You say Dangbei I think Gangbang (filthy mind) 😂
Not at 4 metres big it’s not for obvious reasons, that is the difference and this uses about 1/4 of the electricity so it’s pros and con horses for courses
Yeah RGB laser could be good depends on some factors but yeah could make for a good comparison - however it doesnt support dolby vision and its running android tv so it wont be the overall best as those key features are missing. Sorry to burst that bubble

hello. I've had this projector for 1 week. Unfortunately, when I place it on the ceiling, the keystone doesn't work as it should, causing a bug that means I can't keep the correct image on my screen. I need help updating the device's firmware. Can you please ask the manufacturer about this?
If you’re having an issue contact the manufacturer directly, I can’t do it for you that is not my job. They will also likely ask for a report. Updating the firmware is done easily in the menu

@@PursuitPerfectSystem I've compared them side by side in China, and also owned quite a few Chinese projectors. I'm not the only Chinese who's annoyed by Dangbei and several brands' neon-like color inaccuracy. Apparently you haven't seen a Vidda projector, that's why you are doubting my comment. Or maybe you don't pay much attention to color accuracy. By the way, if you feel that these TH-cam videos are not the best judge of projectors, why do you make them? 你在瞧不起別人的評價時,其實正在打臉自己。
If you have compared them side by side then fair enough but you couldn't judge the accuracy from TH-cam videos as its relying on too many things being perfect in the video production / video viewing process and I know my colours in my videos are not 100% perfect, its the best I can get it but I am not a professional colourist. I personally am a fan of the stronger colours of modern projectors as they produce an image that is more TV like rather than the washed out old fashioned projector look from the bulb projector days. I had a demo of a high end Christie Projector last year and the colours were stronger and TV like not washed out but the whites had a lot more information in them than cheaper projectors and it was insane bright. The reason I show clips is to give the viewer some idea of what the projector can do, as best I can but its never going to be 100% accurate as its HDR image, shot HDR, converted to SDR, graded in software then TH-cam processes the image on top of that. So its the best I can do its not the same as in the flesh
@@PursuitPerfectSystem I’m not blaming but curious you thought. Is that because the industry doesn’t make proper 3d contents anymore or HDR could replace them?
Personal interest just no there for me, I sold all my 3D movies so I dont even have any content to test any more and yes I think the appeal it has faded for many. I still think its a cool experience, I had an amazing one at an IMAX cinema recently, it just wasn't developed very well for the home with most movies making it more of a gimmick

Thank you for the great review! Would you recommend this over the Hisense C1?
How if the c2 model is coming out the ultra model as well , if you want to spend more money get the JMGO n1s ultra it will be out mid June
I think the Hisense is Superior, the Dangbei has No Chance - the Hisense is a tri Chroma Laser !!! Dangbei only single ALPD-Laser...

How much onboard RAM is there for Google TV?
2G RAM memory in 2024 for Android OS will quickly become sluggish

All the HDR movies are playing at 60fps rate and I am a bit unsettled with this.
Basically the hdr videos from Netflix etc.
I didnt see that happen on mine, maybe contact Dangbei and ask them

Affordable, okah
For the screen size it can do at the quality it very much is yes, it’s about the same as a new 55 oled but it can do 5 metres

Not only are wall mount TVs more affordable, but they're smarter and bigger 85"+
This was on a 150 inch screen so just a tad bigger than 85
