I literally laughed out loud when you said the 5 watt speakers can be used by themself and that they were dolby atmos. The dolby atmos marketing is so out of control right now.
U'd be suprised by some small speaker drivers,I have an offbrand portable Bluetooth speaker with a 5watt driver n boy is it loud,n anytime am out n place it on the cars roof it resonates n sounds supper good,so yeah,I dnt think it's marketing
An ALR screen is a must with these. I mean, a must must. You're leaving a ton of image quality on the table with a normal screen even in the dark. The projector fires light almost straight up, and if the projector screen isn't such that it bounces almost all of it out 90 degree toward the viewer (which a lenticular CLR or ALR screen does) much of that light will bounce to the ceiling. And then it will bounce back down onto the screen and do real damage to the black level. Anyone thinking of an UST projector *has to* include the cost for an ALR screen in the price if they want remotely the whole image quality the machine is capable of. That missing black level you mention almost immediately? Lack of ALR screen.
Thanks for the insight, I definitely agree! I went with the one I have now because I'll be using a long throw projector on it as well for other projector reviews, otherwise I would've went with ALR for sure
You should put a electric monitor on the projector drawer so you don’t have to keep closing opening the drawer every time you want to use it! This is just an Idea but anything is possible.
Is the top of the cabinet missing cause it blocked the laser ? And had to be removed. Also when you turn the room light off the light on roof is the from projector is that from the light coming from window behind

Their screens deliver unparalleled image clarity, color accuracy, and uniformity, ensuring an immersive and captivating viewing experience.
🌊 So tempting to splurge on something like this as I'm tired of the burn-in on my 2017 LG OLED. Either that or save my money for a μLED when those become mass produced or affordable.
Can you send the link to the projector stand that you’re using. I’ve had this projector and the same screen for several months but can’t find a descent stand for it.
🌊Thank you for the practical review! I ordered a px1 pro and got 5.1 soundbar set along with it in a deal. Looks like it will be good setting all that up. I don't have an ALR screen yet but first I will test and see how much screen size I'm comfortable with whether 90/100/110/120. First will project on wall and will see what i am happy at.
Like your work Mike. Not sure if the background music is needed with your excellent speaking voice. Can't find the emoji you asked for but I watched it all.
🌊🌊 UST technology has really developed at a dramatic speed! I can't wait to see what a UST will look like 4yrs from now! And most importantly, they're cheap😍
I think a lot more people would have an ultra short throw projecter instead of a tv at least in the livingroom. If the prices werent insane. If the cost was more in linw with a 4k tv it would do the projector industry a lot of favors
Yes, you can absolutely use a big white wall as a screen with the Hisense PX1-PRO 4K Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector. In fact, this is one of the advantages of using an ultra-short throw (UST) projector: you don't need to purchase a separate projector screen. The PX1-PRO is designed to project a large image onto a flat surface, and a white wall is the perfect surface for this.
The main issue with projectors for me is actually not the brightness and contrast but the fan noise. Sound is extremely important for the overall experience and loud fan noise can be really annoying in quiet scenes. And if you live in an apartment building and need to be quiet at night, it's sometimes hard to have the sound play louder than the fans without disturbing the neighbors. How is the fan noise on these newer models (this Hisense projector in particular)?
Short throw, do not sit within a few feet of the screen and you will be good..... Get real speakers, if you want an authentic experience, then there are solutions
Epsons have very low fan sound noise but the heat from the heat vent is quite warm. I would buy a new Epson Short Throw if they would of put a $50.00 3d chip in it so it cost them a customer in me.
Mike, you could actually purchase a ceiling projector for a lot less than $3500. It wouldn't be very difficult to hang it from a drop ceiling. What are your thoughts on going through route to save a couple of grand? Did you want the floor unit so that you could use it outside maybe? Or at another location?
Hey man! I actually have the XGIMI Horizon Pro as well that I could use as a ceiling projector, however, the wiring would be a bit difficult if I were to use external speakers. The UST projector was a lot more simple to set up with the soundbar because it's so close to it. I also like how if people need to go washroom or something and need to walk in front of the screen the projection would not be disturbed by them walking into it. So it really depends on the setup you want, a long throw projector would certainly work as well!
Your new way with the Shor Throw is the way to go now. I have an Epson wireless projector I love it and it works great but this new generation of short throws is a great improvement in my opinion. I'm looking at the AWOL as my next piece. Take Care Hot Rod.....@@MikeWat
You never had a "deer in the headlights" experience with a long throw projector? Not particularly pleasant experience. Not a problem with UST projector
I would have loved to have gone for a short throw but what about the placement of the centre channel. Movies are 50% visuals and 50% audio and there are occasions when the audio out does the visuals. Good video btw 🌊

@mike wat where did you pick up the unit from for the ST Projector and screen
Does this projector have option for ceiling mount?
Some short throws do have a ceiling mount option. Some don't but a little creative you can do this.
Yes it does. All Hisense can be ceiling mounted.
How far is your screen from the top of the projector vertically?
Do you have a name for the entertainment center for the short throw projector
This would be impractical if you own a cat
How far is your screen bottom from the floor?
His eyes are a bit off. 120 isn’t as sharp.
