Motley Cruë , Poison , Cinderella , Dokken , Quiet Riot , Ratt , Skid Row , Warrant , Europe , Bon Jovi , Whitesnake , Def Leppard . All respect to the band they sound great and have amazing talent but they are not better than male bands
1989, we were young, in love, high heels and long teased out metal hair. The tight short skirts and blazers with shoulder pads. Cocktail parties with friends, summers in Greece, and yes, even days partying on Datona beach! The future was too far to care about and our lives were just beginning . It was wonderful.
@@52969RST yeah I saw that on the I Wanna Rock documentary, I heard she's in Chicago now, i'm in the Chicagoland area and i'm actually getting a new dentist next month, perhaps i'll get lucky and she'll be my hygienist. Did you ask her questions about her career?
Innocent times, funnest times to spend the summer going to see concerts, before the depressing grunge era came into existence! Nothing like these days will ever happen again.
I remember seeing Vixen opening for Kiss around the same year with Winger. Those girls sounded so great and performed amazing!!!! I remember sitting in the upper deck on the side of the stage where I saw the girls walk from backstage to the stage just before the blackout before the show. I gave them a thumbs up and they waved at me back! I was so enthralled!!!!
No one rocked harder than Vixen in the late 80s. They had the talent and they had the looks they should have been much more famous. I was cheated by fate to see this show live. I was stuck sitting on I-4 due to a jackknifed truck.
I saw them in, think it was 91, when they opened to Deep Purple in Copenhagen. Never seen anything of them since then. A bit of memory lane here ❤️❤️ good stuff 👍👍
Rex H that's absolute bullshit. They never got super famous because tensions in the band caused them to break up after just 2 albums. Metal was not "on its last legs" metal is still popular to this day.
@@Fireglo I think that what he ment with "metal on its last legs" was towards american music industry changing from the "glam metal & thrash metal" years to grunge, groove & Nu metal era in the 90´s. Myself being a thrash metal fan cannot say the style was over through the 90´s, but definitely was it´s weakest period.
I was blessed to grow up in that era, man I seen so many concerts way to many to count lol but this is one band that I didn't get a chance to see. The one chance I had was when they were slated to open for Poison but for some reason they didn't probably will never know why but looking back I missed out on a great experience
Sounds really nice... you can hear the base well, the drums are not too much , but slightly compressed.. the guitar tone is superb... thank you for the upload.
That's what I really (!) call female empowerment!!!! That was in 1989 (when I was born), long time ago!!! Here in Brazil we still discussing this kind of thing with Anita like a "great womam example". It's a pitty. How late we are in front of this and how I feel shame about this, watching Vixen doing what they were doing almost 30 years ago! No more words...
Isso sim é empoderamento feminino, num meio totalmente machista temos uma banda dessa com tanta qualidade é para se bater palma e apreciar. Janet Gardner canta melhor que muitos vocalistas masculinos famosos
I was in high school as a sophomore, Edward r. Murrow high...Brooklyn, nyc. Heard about them around may 1989 and wanted to start a band around the same year. I had a crush on the lead singer and the solo guitar 🎸 player.
Growing up in this era, I never gave vixen a chance was more of a Maiden/priest power metal guy. However, watching these ladies now, they rocked hard and played/sounded awesome!
I’d go to 1989 right now without a second thought.
Women of the 80s Rocker Chick badass 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Vixen is beautiful female rock group love the big hair!!!! Give me a time machine!!!!!!
Captivating. More charisma than any male band.
Motley Cruë , Poison , Cinderella , Dokken , Quiet Riot , Ratt , Skid Row , Warrant , Europe , Bon Jovi , Whitesnake , Def Leppard .

I hear Ya the BEST OF TIMES and nothing to clutter up LIFE
IF ONLY FUTURE GENERATIONS COULD EXPERIENCE IT
ONCE IN A LIFETIME
Summers in Greece? Must have been nice.
When you sound that good live, you're a good singer.
The peak era of music industry
Janets voice is insane. The perfomance is like in the studio even better.
amazing
She does well here but there are some backing tracks.
The best female band of all times for me...
Yesssssss
me 2
Me too
This was absolutely the best era of hard rock. The look. The music. I still listen to these GORGEOUS ladies to this day! 😎🎸
Wow...
Hair Metal Power of the eighties...and her Scorpions Tour Shirt....!!!
Chicks that were gorgeous, hard as the boys and could play just as good. ! Rip jan.
Vixen, Dayton Beach, and the 80s. Just what the doctor ordered for a dreary raining day to cheer me up
And the dentist is Janet
Jan's tone during this performance was killer!
Impressive, for a live performance.
One of the fattest guitar sounds going in this performance, blown away dude.
Janet Gardner maybe hottest woman I've seen and unbelievable voice. They sound better live then most bands of any era. Better then the recordings
Plus, take into account that this was live, they sound BRILLIANT!!!!!!
She was my dental hygienist 👍👍👍👍👍
not always live, they were known to use backing tracks
@@MrKenstar2 shut up its live they had an off stage keyboard player

Listen up kiddies....this is what hard rock in the 80’s was alllllllll about.
As we know the 80's was the best. Vixen was a live band.
Janets voice is in great shape here and Roxy ... what a precise and clean drumming! High class performance!
This is the memory of Vixen that I will go to my grave with..
Cant deny theres a serious attraction I have to a woman who can shred on guitar😍
Real music, real singers… sure do miss it. Grew up in Daytona watching so many cool shows. These women and Heart both killed it!! ❤

HOLY CRAP! These chicks are rock goddesses! Wish I'd been there. Was just a 28-year old "kid" living in South Florida. How time has passed.
I remember watching this on MTV I think they were opening for Cheap Trick. I was really crushing hard on Janet Gardner. Damn feel old now.
Easter egg
Sam Easter me too
I'm 52 I STILL WANT MY MTV !!!!!!
They definitely look fabulous.wow this was definitely a great time of our lives.

Yep, I lived in Seattle for the entire grunge era. Never really did figure out what those bands were all depressed about.
@@echomanechoman78 Right in the heart of it, eh? There were some great Rockers that came out of Seattle, such as Duff McKagan! So not all bad! Haha

Jan kills it, and Roxxi really slams the drums it's quite impressive, they really should have been bigger
And Janed vocals... she sounds live just as their records. No autotune, just 100% pure talented voice.
Talent with beauty
Damn no love for share?
Roxy still kicks ass my friend !
She is bad ass !
They just started too late. If they came out 5 years earlier they would have been huge.

Remember watching this in my living room wishing I was there. Glad I did see them live. They opened for Bad Company.
All that touring payed off in this performance. They are on point and it shows!
