      @@nobody8328 Honestly, I know several other channels that have this problem; I have also noticed myself that when I create a video and then upload it through TH-cam on my phone, the audio can be heard immediately. When I try to upload it through my laptop, even though it says processing is completed, and it shows up to be viewed, it can take hours before the sound catches up. I have no idea why we all have this problem uploading videos, but it's almost across the board. It doesn't have anything to do with the type of content either, because I don't upload stories and neither do the other channels I'm talking about.
      It just seems to be some hangup in the TH-cam studio where it may take anywhere from several minutes to several hours for the audio to load completely depending on how many minutes the video is and what you use to upload it.

      @@waningmooncancer9628 your comment reminded me instantly of my mum, who also is a Bite-sized audio devotee, who, at all of her grandchildren's games and matches, stands throughout by choice so therefore always at the ready to jump up and down clapping at some winning play! She is 70 however looks a good 15 years younger, is fit and, well I guess youthful is the appropriate word but she's just....
      herself, really. Last weekend someone asked her does it hurt her knees or her feet to jump up and down like that, how does she do it?? And her answer~which she had to think about for a second, was, "I guess I just don't know how NOT to do it"
      Which I think meant that if you start thinking you can't any longer do this or that so you just never do it again.... It's basically just becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I can think of nothing that she does on a daily basis that she wasn't doing 5 10 30 years ago, she even packs the grocery shopping so that it's as heavy as possible, to keep herself challenged. I understand not everyone is going to be able to do that sort of thing but she also has a saying, "if you rest, you'll rust"!!

    Even though a member of the Psychical Society, the librarian exhibited an undue amount of cowardice, letting his friend enter the bombed-out building, not just alone, but without telling him what he saw and failing to answer questions being only interested in running away. Not an admirable fellow.

I wonder how unusual such a 'real-estate situation' might be in late-Victorian London? But Bernard Capes must have known what he was doing. Dearest Simon, can’t believe my good fortune in being able to hear your wonderful voice again after such a long time. TH-cam has been unkind to me for several months now, telling me I must “update” my information to remain in good standing. Unfortunately, my dear deceased brother took the required info with him --wherever he now is. Don’t know if TH-cam has taken me back into its fold permanently or if this a one-time fluke. Just know that the gang and I are still huge fans and are listening whenever the fickle fates allow. Also, someone in Jamaica snitched my bank account information and, consequently, I am waiting for a new debit card in the mail so I can once again be a member of Bitesized Audios. I must admit I'm usually pretty good at following the stories... BUT...im having a bit of a brain block regarding this one. I just can't get what Geffens past/father had to do with him being drawn to the house and what his father had to do with the dynamiters. Also why Geffen said Aitchinson had 'libelled' his father.
    Could someone please enlighten me.Thanks

    • @BitesizedAudio
      @BitesizedAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comments Vince. To answer your question [Spoiler alert for anyone who's not listened yet!]... His father is only connected with the dynamiters inasmuch as he spent one night as a lodger in a house where one of the dynamiters also lived, and that night the house blew up and Gethin's father was killed, along with the landlord and landlady. However, because he was only a chance lodger, nobody knew who he was so his body was never identified, and his family never knew what happened to him, he just disappeared off the face of the earth.
      When Gethin sees the sign advertising rooms to let, his friend is spooked because he can't see the sign, in fact to him the house appears bomb-wrecked and derelict, so he runs away. It seems that for a few hours Gethin is re-enacting the events of 15 years earlier, seeing them from the perspective of his father, up to the moment the bomb goes off, when he is returned to the present and wakes up in the derelict house.
      Gethin was offended because his friend had earlier implied that Gethin's father disappeared all those years ago because he ran away with another woman, abandoning his wife and son. It's clear that a lot of people thought this. But now he knows the truth of what happened to his father he's in a position to tell his friend that his accusation wasn't true.
      I hope that makes sense?

    • @vincesmith9138
      @vincesmith9138 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes it all becomes clear now.
      Yes of course his father was the original tenant thats why the landlady called his name.
      The line where aitkinson says he didn't see what Geffin saw now makes sense too.
      Thanks for the explanation, l can now sleep a bit easier 😆

      @@cassandraseven3478 the protocols?
      They aren’t of The Father
      Not mine anyhow
      It will take the Holy Ghost to to escape their agenda
      These Ghost stories help learn how to be intuitive and open minded to the concept of Ghosts , spirits and knowledge beyond the material world. I think all the above will be required to break free from the objectives of the protocols- whosoever is behind them - they are The Plan, for world government.
      Not world heritage nor well being.
      I think in the story presented here the man had a dream about a past event - in a type of replay.
      I can accept this as precognitive evidence for the past events effect so many lives and change the time line - parallel realms branch off and are graphed back in
      I think the Eisenhower killing fields of Rhine River valley showed a more than necessary brutality by allied forces- beyond what was needed to win a material world war.
      I think it was murder of the real covenant people- real tribe of Benjamin.
      A type of civil war in the spirit between Judah and Israel - the real vs the Canaanite Edomites
      It’s very deep and I don’t expect anyone to accept it without deep knowledge and research .
      When Christ was crucified it’s said that ghosts walked among the living.
      The Bible holds the key to our creation and dna .
      Many are willing to do horrible things for its power
      That power being legitimate legal authority and jurisdiction to coin currency and declare war.

      Sorry to hear that, it seems very strange things are happening on TH-cam today, I've encountered problems uploading this one. It appears to be working at my end now. Sometimes it seems to take a while for the processing to finish. If it doesn't sort itself out in the next few hours, please let me know and I'll try reuploading

    🤔 It's almost as if the author is struggling with the dialog, and actually invents a kind of apology by mentioning their awkwardness. Somethin rings out of tune in this story (to me) , but it is not Simon's reading! 😀👍

    I don’t think he deserted him “so basely”, Gethin was mocking him and thought he was nuts. Gethin’s a bit of an unlikable prick, and his pops was daft as hell.
    Thanks Simon, loved the story, as ALWAYS!

    That was a good one. And I like how you have gained in confidence and are owning your work at the end so there will no potential worrying TH-cam confusion in the future. All of us who enjoy his stories should take the time to support Simon and at least buy him a coffee in appreciation.

    A wonderfully atmospheric story - I could just imagine the dark, dripping November streets. I was on the edge of my seat (metaphorically - I was actually grating carrots) to find out what was going to happen. Thank you so much for introducing us to this hitherto unknown gem, Simon.

    Wow! great story and a actor’s dream of a reading. your realizations of each character were so vivd from the little mousy guy to the bobby (that’s what a policeman was called - right?)
    i felt like i’d been to the theatre, scenery and all - especially the fog and smoke from the explosion. thanks much. have a great day :) 🌷🌱

    • @BitesizedAudio
      @BitesizedAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks Alexa. Yes, "Bobby" is one of the traditional names for a policeman in the UK... named after Sir Robert Peel, the 19th century Home Secretary, and later prime minister, who founded the Metropolitan Police.

    Could anyone explain why the main character accuses the other guy, saying "You libeled my father"? Is he referring to the "They disappear sometimes" suggestion and the implication that there had been some nasty business going on?

    • @BitesizedAudio
      @BitesizedAudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I think that's what he's referring to, the implication made by his friend that his missing father had gone off with another woman. Although I think he should really have said "you slandered my father" to be more accurate!
