I feel you so hard about the making friends thing... stuff's been so awkward lately with like everyone and I think it is honestly a post-COVID thing lol
I feel the same way since becoming a mom: I had friends who I appointed to be my son’s godparents were never present, never checking in or asking about my son it was really hurtful. So I had to cut them off. I only engage with friendships who acknowledge my child because the truth is I’ve evolved as a person and if they can’t acknowledge this new part of me they aren’t real. It’s easier with friends who are mothers too. Less to feel guilty about when you can’t always keep up. So yeah, I get you and you’re not alone. Hopefully we can build more community for women.
i’m not even a mom yet but i completely feel what you’re saying + what nessa is saying. this is why i don’t put so much value around friendships anymore as i’ve gotten older bc a lot of friends are only around for fun or when they want something

I totally understand with the friend who literally only responded when they need/has to borrow something. How I fixed that was I was brutally honest and cut them off the next time they tried me. Im all about communication so you're going to know 😂. They got the point and now were doing better.

I totally get the mom guilt but it's important for you to also mingle with ppl your own age lol for me I was so isolated when I just became a mommy that it was so hard for me to actually hold a conversation with other ppl my age lol so it's deffs important to also socialize. I know when you become a mommy your time belongs to your child but it's so important not to lose yourself in the process that's why you need girls trips even when you a mom

Yes, You need to get mommy friends. Old friends who are not parents are going to see you as mommy. They think you are going to be a killjoy when they want to do wild things, they'll feel forced to not do that with you around or fear that you'll complain about things not being safe to do. They'll think you'll want to go home at a decent hour, etc... you know, be a mommy. That's why they don't contact anymore.
As I watch my cousins and friends as mothers I realize how important it is for mothers to know that they are more than just a mom and it is okay to still and be just themselves for a weekend or take time to regroup and be themselves.

I’m an esthetician and I recommend doing oil massage 2X a week with a gentle oil such as jojoba or rosehip oil. No it won’t make your face more oily. Just take the oil with a dry, clean face and dry hands and massage it in, especially into the areas you notice more blackheads. Do this for 3-5 mins and that oil will loosen up those blackheads! Def don’t want you using pore strips!

I used to just think men were shallow but I've realised women are incredibly shallow to other women too they're just more sly about it. Women generally want to only be friends with other pretty women, the only women I vibe with are older women as I think they realise that friendship is built on personality rather than surface level things. I'm not pretty so I'm always the odd one out in a group of women, they use me to bitch about and make themselves feel superior. It's sad coz the only friends I have that are my age I made in primary school 😂😭
