TPS is a good place to start. I had a 1996 Z28 In silver bought it with 46 k. She was a monster 350 motor. Rolling at 40 mph if you floored it the rear tires would spin like crazy Any car that u can spin the wheels rolling is a powerful car it was A4 trans

The Excel G's are great on my 88', I tried the steering shaft upgrade and didn't like it, I noticed almost no change, and it made a clunking noise when steering so I went back to OE. When I swapped back to the OE rag joint it needed some slight alignment adjustment to make the steering wheel straight.
Thats unfortunate with the trans pan, I went with a TCI aluminum pan with a Derale magnetic drain plug a few years back and they have been good, just had to retorque the pan once. The gasket and filter kit were AC Delco with the rubber gasket.

@reddragon6613 I like them so far in mine, after a couple hundred miles they've really started to ride smooth and they're very comfortable.
As for the steering shaft.. mine started doing that. If I'm turning left, as soon as I start to turn left it has a small pop/clunk. I have no idea why. I re-torqued everything and it went away for a couple of miles and came back.
I'm not too concerned about the trans pan, I hopefully shouldn't have to drop it too much to renew fluids. Worst case I got a flush of sorts without pressurizing the system lol. Your trans pan sounds much nicer than the cheap one I bought.

How’s that L98 running? Man I remember back in 89 my buddy had a 87 T/A with the 350 motor man was that car fast. I had a 1984 black and gold Z28 5.0 HO version. And I was no match for him he’d give me a car length head start and r still could not beat him

Honestly.. I wouldn't call it fast in comparison to my 4th gen, but it runs like a bat out of hell. Runs nice and strong. I've been having a little low idle stumbling issue that I've been chasing. A lot of people just say that's normal for these cars, but I don't like it.. MAF being cleaned, IAC replaced, seems to be a lot happier. Might replace the TPS just to see if it gets a touch better.
