A great weekend at the cabin is better than any day at work Bob. Thanks for taking us along for the winter prep and a great meal. All the best over the holidays. Unfortunately, I will be working and living in camp, cheers!
I agree, it is really cleaning up nicely since he got it. I couldn’t see his vision at first when I started watching this videos, but it slowly started to make sense as he cleaned things out and everything…
That was a good trip to the cabin. Windy. Nice to see things getting done, bit by bit. That's all you can do. The cabin has come a long way since you first purchased it. Good to see.
Finger food, or a feast for a king after a good days work. 🙂 The place is really coming along. Can’t believe it’s board and batten the whole way around. I can’t wait till you do something about that ceiling though. I get nervous thinking about a stray spark ruining all that work you’ve done. Thank you for keeping me company for Sunday dinner for the last few years.
Gezz look's very bitter cold at the cabin nice that you installed that heater system inside, You folks made short work on the chores to ready for the snow great job !, I think I am with your daughter for a supper that has everything to pick at that looked tasty as well as healthy , . Looking forward to your next video up love this one. Watching from Ontario, Canada.
It’s taken me 3 days to watch all your videos from #1 cabin video to this one. I have enjoyed them all. Just waiting to see what insulation and wood you put in your ceiling.
I really envy what you have achieved there. It is so picturesque, peaceful and the serenity is so relaxing to watch. We certainly don’t have anything like that in Australia! It’s so hot here. Love watching your videos. 😊 Gail Brisbane Australia
My old garage entrance door made it in the movies! The previous owner got it all from me when i changed windows doors a siding on my house.. Awesome Videos and look fw to the next one.
Love the aerial views of the cabin. Funny, I had the same trouble with my small Stihl saw. I think it is from using low-test gas?! Mine doesn't have carb adjustments ... what a pain. It might be the screen in the exhaust chamber is clogged. Great show. Merry Christmas to you and the family.
Me I just love watching all your videos and sit back and enjoy everything about your cabin and the fishing, a few years ago I was over in Canada first was Toronto then Abbotsford outside of Vancouver where my son and I plus a friend went fly fishing on some of the big rivers where we caught plenty of salmon and trout and we released all of them and you know the saying if you could turn back the time Canada would be my home as if you work hard you get your rewards not like living here in Scotland but away from all that I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a happy New Year 🥃❤️🏴🎣🎅🇨🇦👍
Enjoyed the video thank you. Pretty place your cabin is sitting. Beautiful hills and mountains without seeing a cell tower is incredible. Merry Christmas. God Bless. NW ga. USA
Hi Bob! I have a stihl chainsaw, it was acting like that as well, I put a screwdriver through the screen in the muffler and think I had to put a new gasoline in it as well. My husky works much better. But it’s a much bigger saw. High test gas is key for chainsaws. Hope you have a very merry Christmas bud. Bunny snaring in the new year!. Lol
Really enjoy your channel and feel quite jealous. I keep forgetting that this is a hunting/fishing cabin for you, and I tend to think of it from a permanent home perspective. Because of that, I have a number of questions that may not apply but I will list here. I notice no refrigerator nor a kitchen counter/sink. Do you have plans for those? Is your generator in need of an upgrade? Do you have plans to upgrade the stand the generator sits on? I recall you mentioned at the outset that there might be a need for renovating the outhouse. I are settled on your routine of collecting water from the pond/brook? Except for removing the stove pipe, I don't recall any attention given to the roof. Will there be a need to shore that up? And I have OCD, so my eyes always gravitate to the unfinished ceiling. You mentioned long ago that you might install a new shower room accessible from the front on the cabin. Do you have any plans for that? Lastly, I'm scared to death of bears and coyotes and I admire your boldness walking through the wilderness. Do you really not arm yourself? I would have to have a 9 millimeter on my hip at all times. Oops, I have to edit because I forget a question. What about support under the house? I think you've said animals crawl under there and I wonder if it's been compromised or weakened in anyway. Lastly, I seen others talk about animals (bears) that can easily break windows and climb inside. I might be tempted to double pane or nail a wood support strip if someone were able to convince me.
🎄Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year🎄 Hope you and your family have a safe holiday season. I am curious about a one thing though. One is have you thought about getting a small water pump for the brook/pond there to bring water to the cabin while you are there. This way you won’t have to haul full jugs of water through the snow and ice from the brook. Packing it away between stays at the cabin…. I have a little pump for my place and I love it, granted my reason was more of an emergency than anything. Our bathtub keeps flooding with water from the tenants in the apartment above ours, so we were constantly having to bail out the tub with buckets as it wasn’t draining plus mop up whatever spilled over onto the floor. I eventually got fed up and did some searching on Amazon until I found a little pump that suited our needs, ordered it and put it to work as soon as it arrived. My roommate and I love it, we weren’t sure at first but it is definitely earning its keep. It’s to the point that I am thinking of ordering another to take with me whenever I go camping or some other outdoor trip, mostly cause it’s small and compact and lightweight so won’t take up much space in my backpack. The hose may but I am trying to find one that flattens and rolls up whenever not in use, but am not having much luck so far. I am learning a lot from all the outdoor and homestead videos that I subscribe to, including yours…so thanks very much. I have never been to Newfoundland myself and would like to visit some day, my youngest brother has and fell in love with the island to the point where he didn’t want to leave afterward but was part of a government program so had to later on. This is the pump I got, but it may not do for your needs…. Upettools Submersible Water Pump, Ultra Silence Circulation Multifunctional Water Pump with Handle For Pond, Aquarium, Hydroponics, Fish Tank Fountain with 6.2ft (1.9M) Power Cord(330GPH,40W) a.co/d/8X865yZ The brand may be different but the model is the same…
Keep up with the videos being at the camp is therapy.i went to Newfoundland when I was a kid.always wanted to get back.the views are amazing.have a great Xmas
I like the bench seats only thing is the outside armrests need to be trimmed to a half circle to move in and out easily. A Nice little cabin you have there, in God's Country.
It looks like a strong storm is brewing brother. Please get a new spark plug for the Stihl, because I want to keep watching your videos and don't want you to freeze. Blessings to you and the Mrs and stay warm on love for now. ❤ How far is the cabin from your home in Isle Au Morts?
Hello, the saw has a screen on the exhaust port, take the cover off were the exhaust exists and throw screen away, by the sounds of it running, the screen is plugged. Hope this helps.
I enjoy all your different adventures, we live on a amazing world. Wondering about your looks like about a three gallon water container you have on your cookstove, did you make it or purchase it somewhere.Im needing something like that for my icefishing shack.
Hi Bob. Loving the videos over here in the UK. Quick question, why don't you burn some of the timber in your burn pile in your stove? I understand you can't burn painted wood or ply because of the glue but some of those boards look like good fire wood to me.
I was wondering if snow falls in certain parts of newfoundland, or all of it? I think maybe the best time to cut down trees is when there is no snow on the ground, and to work with it as well. Trees should eventually be dry sometime throughout the year I would imagine, and if there is a period when trees are dry then you could cut it down. If I were you then I would put the trees somewhere dry instead of leaving it outside after it's cut, and in the snow. Cutting the trees into pieces should provide a better opportunity to put it somewhere. Space, and structures are two issues that should be carefully thought of when living in Newfoundland.
Seems like the spark arrestor screen in the exhaust of your chainsaw is plugged up. Pop off the exhaust and remove the little screen and you should be good to go. Had the same issue with my ms170.
Love your videos I have the honda pioneer 500 also use it on my trapline in northern Ontario and love the bike what size tires are you using on that bike have a good day

For the best hard boiled eggs, start in cold water, bring to boil, cover, remove from heat for 10 minutes. Perfect every time. Saves gas also.

Looking great the cabin … is your heater outlet high enough so not effected by the snow?
Not sure yet
Place is looking great, you have enough lumber to build yourself a good hunting blind, is it legal to build hunting blind there?
Yes it is
