Pie Gauge and Yoke

So the pie gauge is not something that could be used in a arc gouged backing weld ? Bottom of a arc gouged bevel would only be 3/8" wide .

What the difference using pie gauge @ Castro strip

you shouldnt be using a pie gauge to check a yoke you should be doing a lift test on a test weight. you can put a yoke on a piece of wood placing a pie gauge between theclegs and get a field
