Space Station 13 is a game that you're not going to understand unless you play. It's not a game you can learn by watching or reading, and it is a game you certainly won't master in your first day, week or month. Space station 13 is one of the most insane experiences of my life, a game that has occupied my time for over a decade now. Space station 13 is the roguelike of roguelikes for me, the most wonderful piece of human created madness, and certainly on equal footing with dwarf fortress in terms of sheer complexity. Please join in as I embark again, for just another day on space station 13.

49:10 that moment when the clown killed himself in the beginning of the round but you hear squeaky shoes in the middle of a dark maintenance tunnel...
The clown broke into the engine ate chalk and then died. This somehow qualified him to be the safety inspector? Tex logic

@@tamberp to be fair the clown is so loved in that game I don't think there was a better person for the job as sacrificial human thermometer.
Gods I love that you somehow managed to just suplex a vampire like ten times. I don't know why, but the mental image of it biting you and just getting suplexed for it is amazing.

goon's engineering is the best
it's not "set and forget", you keep checking on the engine, adjusting the PTL, observing as the values keep rising and rising, I usually don't leave the engi mancave since the beginning til the end of the round
two months ago I was a newb to hellburning, now my record is reaching almost 1 zetawatt at 80 minutes mark
and your setup is similar to mine, slow injection to the comb chamber, same pump setup
and you were the one who inspired me to start learning goon engi, hell, even playing goon, so, thank you Tex

I keep hitting up Fulpstation to learn the basics. Somehow I became a virologist, and the monkeys beat the ever loving shit out of me. I didn't know how to call security so I panicked and hid in my office, it wasn't long before someone showed up fortunately, and he started fighting the monkey horde. I joined him in pushing and hugging the monkeys (didn't know how to punch until way later) and then I was battered so badly I needed to be revived. I lost my ID and got trapped in viral containment. Out of boredom I injected everything into my guy and waited. Unfortunately I was waiting for nothing, nobody came by, after 20 minutes or so I figured that was it and left. Would have loved to see how many people got infected by my stupidity though.

This game is too eclectic like a bad ZMUD on meth and moonshine. Nerd level l99.
It has all the excuses to have all the graphics of a 1990's Rpg. And the game is more challenge and more fun than Pokémon is these days.
Though there is a funny thing, on the furry containment server, Citadel, any time I play as a Borg, I run into a guy who is a Jolteon. Everytime I run into him is usually when the station is kind of going to shit, so I can say "well at least it isn't as disappointing as Gen 8"

the best way to learn is to do, especially with ss13. When you get stuck, hit f1 and talk to a mentor. Join their discord.

I really want to learn how to play this game.
It's not TOO difficult to learn atleast the controls, other things yes, but given time you can learn. Quite a few people are supportive at times, and tbh, no one knows everything, so really you'll always learn something new at some point, just gotta give it a try and dont let things turn you away from ppaying.
Is there a chem you can take that'll lower/maintain body heat on goon?
I think there is a drink you can make as a bartender which can lower body heat, so I guess it would make sense for there to be a chem specifically for it. You just gotta experiment to find it my guy.
uhhh, teprone is a chem that normalizes body temperature, don't remember the recipe off the top of my head but it does exist

I prefer people learn by doing, that way its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier on them. Watching somebody saying "here's how you mash buttons" is not going to teach you how to be a better spaceman. Only being a spaceman, dying, and learning can. You must try and learn. Also, there are secrets in the game, that if I give away . . . . would make me a very bad spaceman.
