After over 50 years, this song out of the blue, was in my mind again,. I am 74, but I would kill for my loved ones, thanks the Lord , I never had to kill.
First heard a snippet of this song on Top Gear and i have been hooked on this song ever since. Such an amazing song, he has such a awesome voice. 😃 🏴
Wow! I haven't heard these songs in over 30 years. I can't believe i still remember the words!! What an amazing voice Tony had, eh? Not only that, the lyrics were captivating, they were engrossing... The lyrics told an important story, which was told in Tony's amazing singing voice. What an amazing artist
Background video is from Brighton, England along the coast from the remains of West Pier towards Brighton Marina. The video looks contemporary to the music.
Tony Christie had quite a string of great hits, late 60s early 70s; including one that was used as a theme to a TV series (name of that show escapes me right now) but the song was 'Avenues and Alleyways'. I'd always thought that he had a voice not unlike that of Tom Jones, quite powerful. Then he just kind of disappeared from the scene. Wonderful singer, loved his hits.
We were all singing this on a coach in South Australia on the way back to the Army barracks, we were all singing it aloud as it was on the buses radio. The driver told us in a very polite way to "shut the F@&$ up and be quiet as he's trying to drive! Trying to drive??? we were trying to sing!!
I listen to this song at the same time I watch mad max and the crow I know there not western movies but it does have revenge in them both heroes want revenge for the death of there wife's.
Have Landord named Maria shes awsome always looked after me all above board to this day im loyal to her for having what military call your 6 i got plenty whoop ass and my landlords included very rare butbi got her 6 too Amen
Is it wrong that I find this song very very funny? It's the fact that the lyrics are very very dark, but the music isn't at all. The combination is kinda hilarious.

Where is the old USA, which fought for justice without fear. Today, in the face of the murderous aggression of Hamas, a large American audience, and even universities and the government, and they stand rather on the side of the vile murderers. Those, whom Israel set out to destroy and avenge, and also to prevent its own destruction, at the hands of the murderous organization. Israel, the attacked party, finds itself accused of the attack, when it came to defend itself. Everyone ignores justice, which says that whoever hurts you, you have the right to hurt him back and defend yourself.
