I can confirm from personal experience that the Bontrager ballista is an incredibly safe helmet and after saving my life once I have continued to use my FREE replacement which basically came under warranty from trek/Bontrager. My replacement also upgraded me to the mips version which was a bit of a bonus.

Agree. Protect that noggin. A friend of mine got a real bad concussion when he came off his bike last year. Couldn't work for months and still affects him to some degree today.
I just got the Blaze MTB WaveCel and love it so far. That model has an GoPro mount so you can put an GoPro, but I have put my light there instead. Great Video, keep them coming..
Yeah I wish I mentioned that some of the other models had the magnet so you could mount a light. I have another Bontrager MIPS helmet with the magnet and I use it a lot in winter for that purpose. It's really handy. Thanks for watching!
Not bike related. But the WaveCel tech, is similar to the Koroyd impact suppression, now appearing in a few technical chainsaw helmets. With similar claims and stats.
Hello Christie and good day to you! Thank you for your video. Are you still using the Bontrager XXX helmet? If so, is your opinion the same about it in terms of airflow, comfort, Cool in the hot weather, weight? Would this helmet be good for climbing? The ones I am considering so far is the XXX, Velocis MIPS, Circuit or Giro Synth II MIPS. Having a hard time choosing. Thank you!
@@mathewwong1415 Hi Mathew! Thank you for asking! I ended up buying the Bontrager Velocis MIPS and love it. Boa dial tightens nicely. Helmet doesn't move. If you really sweat then it does come on the glasses a bit, but other than that. Great! Also, looks great.
@@jeffepstein228 sweet, I got a Velocis mips as well, I really like the airflow through the head exiting to the back, I can feel the wind funnelling to escape
I enjoy product reviews, and am glad you made this video. However, I gave the thumbs down because I felt like the title did not reflect the focus of this video. In my opinion, it would be okay to have 10-20% of a video on unrelated content, but this was like 50%+.

Nice! I debated on buying the Ballista last year but since I got my Kask I never pulled the trigger. I've heard nothing but great things about it.

Just picked up an Oakley Aro3, wasn't sure about the look of the wavecel stuff and 100% echo your sentiments about going with MIPS if not wavecel :)
I have the ARO5, I really like the way it feels and the look off my head, but I feel like it looks so bulbous when it is actually on my head lol.
I've thought those look pretty cool. I think I look silly in most helmets lol
