    GREAT idea to use a sheet with a pattern on it to demonstrate this video! Mega-Pioints for re-cycling a working device, rather than having is a working blower/motor being crushed down into raw materials by their weight. Bravo sir!

    You failed to explain the 220 to 110v motor wiring. No mention whatsoever! Did you tied together both legs to one side of the 110 and grounded the other wire to the other leg?

    You don't need to restrict the air in the outtake you need a filter on the intake side that's the best way to restrict air, and keep debris from flying at you.

      I screwed a license plate to the side to restrict intake air on my garage fan. I sure hope the video producer got your comment (years ago), and did it the right way.

    I appreciate your video and thank you for making it. I'm really anxious to see all the superior videos from all of these super experts that have seen fit to criticize your efforts. I learned from your video. I have a blower fan in my shop that isn't restricted and shuts off after a few minutes. I think that restricting the airflow may fix it. Thanks for the info. Nice paint job.

    1: can I run a 230 volt garage fan motor on 120 volts? 2: it looks like your motor does not have that much torque because of lower voltage. I think mine will do the same.

  • @frankdiscussion9988
    @frankdiscussion9988 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yes it can.
    But sooner than later the motor will fail due to overheating.
    I love your ingenuity, but please allow me these two constructive criticisms:
    1.) You should brush-up on your knowledge of electricity before recommending things like this to others.
    Here is a good link that will explain what and why will ACTUALLY happen in your above-scenario: www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/can-a-240-volt-motor-be-run-from-120-volt-power/
    2.) Just a slight bit of standardization would make your wiring diagrams a joy to look at. Currently they are somewhat painful.
    EZ tip: In wiring-diagrams, ALL lines are drawn N/S or E/W, with 90-degree turns only.
    No wires are drawn at any other angle. No 45's.
    Also, there is no need to show wire-nuts...they just clutter up the diagram.
    Sort that out and you'll be tight!

    Making the outlet smaller doesn’t make it spin any faster, it just increases the wind speed similar to what a nozzle does to the end of a fire hose when you start to close it, makes the outlet smaller thus increase the pressure, it does not increase the water supply.

    • @CristianOrtiztechmaster926
      @CristianOrtiztechmaster926  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wired it the same as if it was back in the air handler. White to white and the black, red and blue wire to the black incoming hot wire. Only use one of the color hot wires coming from the motor to wire it to the incoming hot line using a power cord.

    • @TheRandomHandyman
      @TheRandomHandyman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok so 1 of the 3 hots wired in and the other 2 just capped off?

    • @CristianOrtiztechmaster926
      @CristianOrtiztechmaster926  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct. The colored wires are just for the speed of the motor to run at. Red is the low speed blue is the medium speed and the black wire is the high speed.

    • @TheRandomHandyman
      @TheRandomHandyman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I got a new one today and it had brown and yellow wire going to capacitor and a red, green, and black wire comeing out of motor as well. I have tried green to green black to black and red to white on a power cord and when I plug it in the gfci receptical just trips, I have tried swapping the black and red wires around and it does the same . Any ideas?

    Looks like you have a 120vac motor, 2 speed, not a 240 vac motor. You need to show us the label on the motor. This motor runs the house air wheel,. The 240 v motors use the blade outside in the condenser unit. Most furnace units do not have 240v available.

    • @r1ckastl3y86

      Do you even know what you are talking about? The blowers in electric furnaces (like this one) run on 240 and not 120. The blowers in gas furnaces run on 120 and not 240. Get it straight. I am not trying to be rude or anything, just giving you information.
