Clara Klingenström är en 25-årig popartist och låtskrivare från Gotland. Hela hennes familj sysslar med musik. Efter debutsingeln ”Ensam i en stad”, som släpptes våren 2019, har hennes artistkarriär stadigt vunnit mark och satt hennes namn på musikkartan. 2020 följde hon upp med radiofavoriten ”Sommarminnen”.
Clara har blivit uppmärksammad för sina ärliga och nakna texter som förmedlar en stark igenkänningsfaktor. Och det är hon som har skrivit just texten till tävlingsbidraget.

- Om jag skulle beskriva min låt i en mening så skulle det vara: Fucking revansch. Jag skrev min låt när jag var totalt på botten, men nu blir det revansch.

All these people got more votes in the heats than Clara did... and didn't reach the final. Crucially, Clara was 4th in votes in her heat, which got her into AC, and then everyone fell in love with her.
She was third with the people! This song will become a hit!

She finished third in the public’s vote.
But considering it’s a unexpected underdog pick in Swedish, I can understand why it didn’t go over as well with the judges as it did with the public’s vote.
For some reason most of the songs in melodifestivalen sound similar, they are pop-friendly well produced songs and I like them, but this sounds totally different. This is magic and it makes me feel different emotions. Sometimes the simplicity and the truth are the best ingredients to make a powerful song. Thank you Clara

I get where you come from, but this exact type of song is so common in the Swedish context. This is by far not anything exceptional to us. It's a cute song and Clara performs it like a boss, but it's still nothing special to bring to the table.

Du har rätt. Svenska är ett jättevackert språk, men tyvärr är svenskar mycket konstiga och älskar engelska över allt annat och skulle aldrig någonsin skicka en låt på svenska till Eurovision. De tänker att man måste förstå, men det är helt fel, för man kan uppskatta en låt på ett annat språk. Svenskar tänker ALLTID bakvänt, utom jag då. Jag tänker alltid precis tvärtom gentemot resten av svenska folket. Men kanske finns det hopp, för den här låten slutade femma. Alltså verkar det som att vissa svenskar har fattat detta till slut. Du verkar ju ha fattat det, så det finns hopp. Mycket roligt att se sådana kommentarer.
Om en svensk låt vinner måste den översättas till engelska.
@@ludvighansen493 Nej, inte enligt eurovisionregler, men däremot gör alltid Sverige så och det beror på det som jag skrev i kommentaren innan. Svenskar är som de är. Jag önskar att det vore accepterat att säga starkare ord än konstiga. Men ja, det är hur som helst SVT som tvingar alla att översätta låtarna till engelska, men det finns inga regler kring det. Därför är ditt påstående inte helt korrekt.

The vote results came out today, and yeah, she had good reason not to expect to go through...
I cry watching her sing. She's so like Josefin Nilsson another singer from the same Island, Gotland. The same openess, strength and sensitivity. I'm so glad Clara got help. You see Josefin died before her time, after a life in pain and suffering. I voted all times I could for Clara, she needs to be heard for all other girls suffering.

@@idkok7193 That’s just a basic song, I mean I can agree to certain parts that it’s a strong song yeah defintly agree, but if I’m complaining with Clara’s song it just something different that can be so good in esc 2021! Swedish entries are also like same old and they need to get something more outstanding and this is the most perfect song for it. Sweden has to send a swedish song and don’t translate it to english later. I just think it will go home with the esc viewers. From all of Swedish entries that they had send to esc, Clara’s song can be one of the best swedish songs I ever heard in my entite life, and I’m absolutely honest.

I totally agree you. She made us to conect with her for 3 minutes although we didn’t understand anything.
The song is about how you can change yourself into another persona and loose yourself. She is thinking back and come to the conclusion she doesnt need to be someone else as she has found her own self again. The lyrics could have some other meaning but in this case the lyrics seem to be about the singer and her struggle with drug abuse and bad self esteem.
Spenser Tracy In an interview with ESC Extra she said the song was about a past abusive relationship.

Sounds a little like it could be from the 80s, somehow. When I heard the first line from the chorus, I immediately thought "I know this from somewhere, but I don't know from where".

In its own league in Melfest final. Every other songs are painfully generic and/or forgettable, average pop songs. This has some magic that really captivates listener. Good luck for her. I hope she does well.

Dear Swedish people I know there's literally 0 chance this song wins but please vote for Clara! When I first heard the song snippet I absolutely loved & was rooting for her. I love the authenticity of the song & the performer. She tells her story in a beautiful way. Plus it's been ages since Swedish language was heard in eurovision. Would love to see her perform in Rotterdam
There is actually a very huge chance that this wins. If you leave in sweden you would have heard thus song everywhere andduribg the last week this song has just gained so much popularity. Its between her and tusse and I hope she wins

And to be honest I'm seeing lots of Swedish comments here which amazes me cause it means it's gaining lots of traffic there. I really hope she does well.
