So cool, always float tube the goon but I might give this a shot since I already troll leadcore for trout on rentals. Do you think with the boat traffic and wind conditions on the upper lake that a 11 ft kayak with a trolling motor would be good?
It really depends.. trout and bass are very different.. A spinning setup could work for both but for that I recommend you check out "TacticalBassin" on TH-cam. They have some videos on rod and reel setups that are really helpful.

I think if you’re experienced enough it’s doable but it gets gnarly out there in the weekends with wakeboarders

it's because he's trolling and using a lure with a weighted line
Im using flies and "yanking" the line adds a stop and go action to the fly similar to fishing with a jerkbait.
