Hello, nice video! I run my community and I changed the TL3 requirements so people don't stare blindly at a set of numbers and try to farm likes ect to gain trust levels. Especially for a critical TL such as regular.

Thanks so much, glad you found it useful! Yes, I think tying key outcomes to TLs is so critical. Let us know how you get on!

Hello Jono. Thank you for sharing this video. I have a question. I have reached level 1 Trust and I have been asked to create a new topic, however in my window I do not see the Create New Topic icon. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I appreciated being shown how to change the trust level names. Question. Can you use trust levels to restrictwho can post in a particular category or sub category? For example, if I want to have a For Sale section, I think only TL 2 should be allowed to post, but TL1 be allowed to view/comment/message the seller.

Thanks for the kind words, David! Glad you liked it. :-)
Yes indeed, you can limit certain categories to Trust Levels. To do this, edit the category, click the Security page, and then you can select the group and the permission.
For example, for the example you want to accomplish, you can select 'trust_level_2' to have 'Create / Reply / See' and then trust_level_1' to have 'Reply / See'.
      Hope this helps.

Hey can Moderators be assigned categories?

Great question, Joan! Yes, you can assign permissions to a categories and therefore assign moderators. You can also create a group, add specific users to that group, and then assign that group to a category. Hope this helps!

@@jonobacon Hey thanks! I think I figured it out. I was a bit disappointed that the Discourse Forum does not give specific instructions on how to set this up. So I figured out you can set up a "group" and then assign them a "category" (more more than one) .

Yeah, I think the docs could be improved on this. Glad you figured it out! :-)
