Trains at: Carpenders Park, WCML, 05/04/18

- An excellent but cold evening spent at Carpenders Park station situated on the Watford D.C. line ajdadent to the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Overground, London Northwestern Railway, Southern and freight from Freightliner, DB Cargo UK and GBRF.
Carpenters Park was built by the London & Northwestern Railway company in 1914 only to then be closed in 1917.
It was then reopened by the London Electric Railway in 1922 which would later become London Underground, they would continue to serve the station until 1982.
The station was first constructed to purely serve the local golf course until the housing estates were constructed to deal with the ever growing population. Because of this the original station which was constructed 230 yards further north had to be brought down and given a new look, the first station was a wooden structure which was connected to the golf course via a footbridge. Once the new station was finished it was accessable via an underground subway to link up the Carpenters Park area and the South Oxeley housing estate.
My next station is going to be Welwyn Garden City on the East Coast Mainline.

I know what you mean its a sort of station that doesn't really do a great deal but is good just for a brief stop at, really enjoyed my time here and I was lucky to get all those numbers when they came past

the loud noise is the Track because its when Trains Pass over the Sleeper then it forms a loud high pitched noise.
My god that is the most exciting crossover that we ever seen

Good video but when I went to the range I saw a class 390 stopped on the down fast line I don't know what was going on with the fast line
There may have been another train in the signal block ahead

I have a 1950’s British Railways poster for the reconstructed Carpenders Park station showing a Britannia pacific on a train. It looks like an illustration from a Hornsby catalogue from the same period. What does the foyer look like today? (That is shown too.)

Forgot to mention, are Great Northern's 365 going to Greater Anglia because the Great Northern logo isn't on some of the coaches, like they've been painted over. What is that about? Also, is Great Northern going to turn into Thameslink? Is that why the 365's Great Northen's logo taken off to get the Thameslink logo? I really don't know but it is really bugging me that I don't know.
The 365's are going into storage because of the introduction of the 387 units and the 700's, as for the reason why they are having the branding removed I don't know

On the ECML, the train services were very slow today. Any reason why? Going to my destination was fine but going back was really slow when it’s quicker going back. Was it because it’s calling at a lot of stations? Idk it was just really slow today
You may have been stuck behind a slower train or indeed you were calling at more stops on the way back

It used to be served by London Underground Bakerloo Line trains to Watford Junction as well. I'm assuming this station is north of Harrow&Wealdstone where Bakerloo trains now terminate. Only London Overground now use this station.
