  • Next test run, after adjusting some of the sound levels. This is also using ProtoThrottle control.

How did you hook up the subwoofer to your Loksound decoder? this shit is nuts🔥

There are two LokSound v5 decoders, one in the loco and one stationary. The stationary is programmed identical to the loco, except all sound slots other than the prime mover are set to 0 volume (eg, I dont want to hear the horn thru the subwoofer, just the prime mover). The stationary's speaker outputs are hard-wired thru an audio isolation transformer to the line input of the subwoofer system, hence the master volume of the stationary decoder also has to be set pretty low to avoid clipping the signal.
it works best when there is just one loco on a shelf layout, multiple locos on a large layout would just be a cacophony.

@@edmundnadolski3588 another option would be possibly to delete all the sound slot except engine on the stationary decoder, which i would imagine to be an FX. Honestly not that economical if it’s a standard 58429

@@CentralJerseyRailfan I use the N scale version for the audio, which is a bit less costly as it does not need the HW to drive a larger motor. As long as it is a V5 it will play the same sound file at the same rate as the HO version in the loco. This sound file is for the 12-645E prime mover.

This is awesome..how did you connect to an isolation transformer with only 1 pair of wires? Aren't there 2 rca inputs required? thanks@@edmundnadolski3588
