You mean a thousand times better than a best friend? Because siblings are chosen by your soul prior to your birth, and was gifted to you by god. Also they shared unconditional love with you ever since you were born. A love that is difficult to achieve or earn if we are talking about non-family. We don’t get to choose our family of origins. Because they are a gift. A gift from our soul and God. They made you who you are and will always be there for you automatically. For me, they are my number 1 priority regardless of who or what enters my life. Because family is always first and that fact has always been humanity’s heart’s treasure.
Remember coming home unexpectedly after a year away overseas in the Navy. I wanted to surprise the family, so I didn't tell anyone. When I got there, everyone was gone -- they'd gone on vacation. I spent the few days of leave I had in the empty house, then went back to my duty station. It was kind of sad.
