This is a great help, thanks; I had to open mine too; there was fungus inside; I noticed that the previous owner had worked on it before since there were only 3 screws instead of the six I saw in your clip; are you able to share the specs of the screws with me so that I can order a new set? your help would be greatly appreciated, brgds Jean
Fantastic video, Is this process exactly the same for the mkii version? just noticed some how my brand new 24 105ii I have had around a year but never actually used has come with a big dust spot right in the center on the front element. I heard that canon do not class this under warranty for repair, so it looks like I'm going to have to have a go myself.
Thanks for this your videos have came very handy for me, Do you have a EF 135 f2 lens laying around?, there is no cleaning tutorial on it anywhere. If you could make it, will be very helpful, thanks you so much
@@CamerasLensesEtc cannot disagree. Cleaned today my lens 24-105 from fungus 🤷🏻♂️ could you please make a video how to disassemble lens first element 😅 it seems that I've got dust in first lens element between glass
Most of the dust is between the first and the second lens element. If you have to clean the lens element deeper than that, then there are complete disassembly videos on my channel of this lens which you can use to clean all of the lens elements.

Can you give me a timestamp where the 3 screws were?

I don't know, I haven't had any Mark II versions.

No, I don't have that.
@@CamerasLensesEtc okay no probs
You didn't replace the 3 or 4 transparent pieces that you picked out with the tweezers. What were those and why not put them back?
Do you mean the residue of the glue which were on the screws?
CamerasLensesEtc Hi, I don’t know what they were, that is why I asked. The resolution of the video wasn’t quite clear enough to see properly.
Hi, can you replace the filter barrel this way ?
What do you mean by filter barrel?
Splendid video! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!

You only remove the front element… the more important part would be how to get behind the back element.

3:31 - what are the bits you’re removing with the tweezers? Thank you.
