I think he's genuinely sorry. Tyson is a wise man but a very flawed wise man. He's the type to act and not give a f in any given moment. I wish him the best and he has grown as a human being.

I dont remember exactly what happend was it not something to do with a woman connected to teddy or Cus? I know I heard it before but life is short , rebuild bridges if they are worth it , if you have made mistakes and you know inside yourself you did wrong and have denounced that behaviour then there is always a chance.

it doesnt matter if tyson was sincere or not, what matters is that Teddy Atlas was and he was. You gave to help them, its on them if they are telling the truth or not.

Teddy should have been the one apologising for pulling a gun on a child for flirting with a child. The Mike and his niece thing was stupid because she was 11 and Mike was 13 and Teddy atlas took it to far and there’s a lot more to it like he wanted to take Mike from Cus at the time.

@Ian Dixon Yeah. The 'asking for forgiveness' step..it's where a lot of people falter at it actually because just up until you havn't shown any memory about the events you just think that if you don't speak it might not be so...the fucking guilt that hits you like a train around that step, a lot of people can't accept and get over the guilt of what they became in the midst of addiction and it really has the ability to make/break you. It's why a lot of people dont believe in the12 steps..i just say whatever gets you through the night..we're al so original that there is no 'one size fixes us all'...your pride is beating at the back door, but it's not an optional disease; it must live with you, might as well try it with a clear conscience✌

@William Lacombe I have made a lot of mistakes in my life. But raping an 18-year-old girl when I was 22 (not 14 or 15), slandering her with the help of a vile anti-semite like Farrakhan, and never accepting responsibility for the crime -- which, despite my top legal team and the difficulty of proving rape charges beyond reasonable doubt -- for which I was convicted is thankfully not among them. Because I couldn't live a single day with that on my conscience. Desiree Washington. The world of boxing, including the "respectable" boxing media, has forgotten the name, but I haven't.

Man this got my eyes watery. I know that there is still alot of energy regarding this topic. Just the other day someone asked Mike on his podcast, I think it was his buddy, "Hey Mike how do you feel about about Teddy" with sort of an awkward tone and I understand why because Teddy seems to be hard on Mike at times, Mike immediately said, "I love Teddy" with a look that could penetrate through many life times. I know he doesn't even want to discuss Teddy in anyway negative what so ever. I agree with the others that they should get together, I think Teddy in the Hotbox would be great. I often tell people around me sometimes in life you get one chance to learn one lesson and there are maybe many things Teddy and Mike have to learn from each other or themselves, and there could be many things we can learn from watching and listening.

What I love about Tyson now that he's older is his brutal honestly. Whether you like it or not he's brutally honest and he's extremely critical on himself. He's talks about all the stupid mistakes and the poor judgments he made over the years all the time so if Mike wanted to apologize to Teddy after all these years he really felt he needed to. Mike knew he was wrong and felt he needed to get that off his chest the best way he knew how.

Not really. Robin Givens and her psycho mother targeted Mike put him on tranquilisers and stole his money. He never recovered after that. He was already finished before the Buster Douglas defeat. That said, Lennox Lewis was always too big, powerful, and tactically/defensively clever to lose to even a prime (21yo) Tyson, although he'd have a puncher's chance, obs.
Prime Tyson is the 2nd best ever though, and best ever to watch.

Rob Thomas they really weren’t whores in the traditional sense bc the women were either fawning over him or were exclusive high class prostitutes that only go with extremely wealthy men but the majority were just beautiful women that wanted to screw him. My cousin was on the fringe of his inner circle for a few years in the late 80s early 90s the stories he told were hard to believe but apparently true, like Wolf of Wall Street times 10. I believe him on it (the Wolf of Wall Street part) bc he doesn’t talk a lot of shit and didn’t tell the story for awhile afterwards.

I think Tyson is a changed man after watching several interviews over the years. He’s shown raw honesty about his mental state during his early years in boxing, talked of regrets. He seems more at peace in himself. I would say it seems sincere, and Freddie seems so too.

It was wonderful to see these 2 boxing legends finally put the past behind them...shake hands and bury the bitterness that was clearly dividing them.
Mike Tyson was man enough to go to Teddy Atlas and hold out the hand of friendship and Teddy Atlas was magnanimous enough to shake it.
different men in different times with a past between them...great to see.

There are a few things in life that you can't put a price on, and that's a good conscious that wants peace. Mike is at a place in his life where he has come full circle and is now ready to enter the next segment of his life. That's a great place to be at this age. I'm so proud and happy for Mike. To many people at this point in their lives are to consumed with their pride and dignity, rather than their integrity and sometimes you have to just forget yourself and do what's right.

My guess. There's no reason for him to apologize if he wasn't sincere. You're correct. It does take something to put himself in that position. Tyson has gone through a change and probably continues to go through changes. It did mean something, Teddy. Take it, as you did. 👍
