The interior lighting sucks, but after reading the comments I'm going to switch to the led bulbs. 4. It doesn't seem to warm up inside in very cold temps here in PA. All minor complaints. I finally received my RAV4 after a 4-month wait during late november. Toyota cancelled my order and "allocated" a unit with $3K in undesired options for me. Instead of your color choices, I was given the "opportunity" to purchase an example in Smurf Blue with black interior. The interior is funereal. I have the sunroof open 24/7 (Ohio) to relieve the gloom. 'Smurfette' and I are learning to get along with each other. I disagree regarding engine noise. My base of comparison is my '77 FJ-40. The RAV4 engine CAN be noisy -- when the 3,000 PSI direct fuel injectors kick in. The pump for those injectors isn't far from the firewall. Yeah, if you push hard on the 'go pedal', you're going to hear that pump. Other than that, I mostly agree with your comments.

    I agree with your complaint on height. I’m 5ft and have a hard time getting in and out. However, other issues are snow removal from between the wipers and hood. Way too big of a gap/indentation. Also, snow build up around tires. The wheel well is so small that if you don’t keep banging road snots out it will stop the tire from turning. In one snow storm I had to stop twice in a 30 min drive to clear them out. Also the fact the the rear wiper does not lift off the window and I can’t reach the passenger wiper when it’s lifted. I have to knock it down with the drivers side wiper. The front wipers also sit too low for the front defrost.

    You make a wise choice in Toyota. Does it Sounds Noisy. Is there lots of road and tire and wind noises? No tint on the sun roof? This is a 2021 model, did the 2022 change much?

    • @fernandomontenegro9458
      @fernandomontenegro9458  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a lot of road and wind noise, especially on the highway. But the tradeoff for that is how smooth and comfortable the ride is.
      As for the sunroof, I don't believe it's tinted simply because there is a sliding upholstery cover that covers the sunroof from the interior so no sunlight comes into the cabin. The sunroof for mine is just at a normal configuration, no tint.
      I've taken a peak at the 2022 models but the differences are very minor. Not a lot of significant changes really.

    The ECO mode up shifts the gears sooner, it does NOT limit you from over-take (down-shift/floor-it or whatever you want to call it), so you misunderstood the use of your vehicle's ECO mode.
    Sunroof wise, you can simply press the Open a 2nd time to stop it from sliding/opening all the back too; starting to look like your sales (delivery process was not done as thoroughly as it should...).
    As for the noisy engine compartment is partly (perhaps mostly) due to the D-4S Injection system specifically the Direct Fuel Injection pump...
    There are plenty of USB to Aux adapters on the market starting from ~$5... starting to Nag Nag Nag!
    Finally, Phew! Spend about ~$12 for a pack of super bright LEDs then replace all your interior light bulbs to LEDs so you'll like your RVA4 a bit more.😁

    Most of those can be modified, but my one and only dislike is the look of infotainment screen. That 90's or 2000's style wide bezel stuck on dashboard is hideous. It just won't grow on me and I can't see myself look at that thing almost everyday for next 10 years or so. Having said that my number one choice for next car still is Rav4 hybrid. I am hoping for new NX350 style infotainment screen on Rav4. NX350 used to have similarly ugly screen with touch pad on their previous year model. Those tablet on dash looks are getting old quick.

    What I don’t like about my RAV4 2021 xle premium is the absence of front seat cooling option. Softech fabric gets HOT in the summer, and that makes A/C run harder to cool it off. With more cold air coming out in the center of the console, your hip joints have greater risk developing inflammation and ultimately arthritis. #2 Somehow on longer trips I get more tired in RAV4 then in all other vehicles I owned before. Perhaps the seats are not as comfortable as they should be? #3 This gets me every time - XLE limited does not illuminate all the buttons at night? C’mon, my 2015 Camry se has all door buttons illuminated. I guess Toyota is counting pennies these days. #4 I wish the upper part of the steering wheel was heated as well. It just feels unnatural to use in cold in such configuration.
    Not having cooled front seats is a deal breaker for me. After a year owning my RAV4 I am seriously thinking going to Venza or Outback Touring XT. Or RAV4 Limited (if I can find one). Just my 2 cents. Thanks for the review.

    switch your music streaming device settings to 'high quality' or 'no data cap' or something similar. you'll stream .wav or .aac or just less compressed .mp3 instead of regular .mp3. Also btw cd's have .mp3's on them so theyre the same quality as default settings on streaming more or less.

    • @fernandomontenegro9458
      @fernandomontenegro9458  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be completely honest with you, I am still trying to figure that part out. I have the mount of rear dash cam attached to the upper center portion of the rear window. I am still tinkering with how to route a long cable wire through the upholstery from the plug to the trunk (short distance) without having items in the trunk interfere with the cable.
      Since the trunk opens upward, I have been having issues where the wire would yank on the camera either causing it to turn on the mount or some cases, cause the whole piece to drop due to the inadequate routing and tension of the wire. I have not had the chance to experiment with this due to time, priorities in life, and just plain laziness on my part.
      So I am in the same boat as you. Right now, I just have the long cable sitting on the trunk floor with no routing. I'll get to it....one day...
