    Re pulling back and then evading another punch (3:00): James Toney shows how to do it, did it even with a double jab: first pull back, then bend the hip to dip down and to the right. Loads the hip for a mean counter right uppercut as well.

    Great explanation! Any chance of breaking down the bob and weave movement into a few brief steps that I could drill?

    how to slip and move you're head...just look at footage of Tyson especially in training from mid 80s

      Tyson had a unique stance however so it's a bad example. He stood very square in a stance tailored for his build.

    • @RaulRamirez-qq4td
      @RaulRamirez-qq4td 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jordan McMurray he had the peekaboo boxing style which is also really effective

    • @mookeychase0907
      @mookeychase0907 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      His feet were often parallel...that's a no no...

    • @BIGSWOLEXL
      @BIGSWOLEXL 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      being squared in the peek a boo stance which is the only reason why you should be squared because of this style it allows you to shift meaning go from otrhodox or southpaw and moving to your oppnents side effectively. Being squared doesent matter in the peek a boo if your in the inside throwing punches and moving your head. If you are squared and not moving your head or throwing punches then thats a problem. Tyson always moved his head even when he did square up from time to time or threw punches in bunches

    • @CSTAR1993
      @CSTAR1993 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He only stood square to attack from orthodox to southpaw, to pivot & turn his opponents. It had a purpose.

    Prince Naseem slips way beyond the cylinder, and it"s beautiful to watch how he dodges the punches

    • @Fredo10
      @Fredo10 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mesut YSH prince naseem was a special case you barely see any fighters slip and use the type of footwork he did

      Some people can afford to go against boxing fundamentals due to god given talent and athleticism.

    • @RaulRamirez-qq4td
      @RaulRamirez-qq4td 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mesut YSH he was really good and really fast but his slips caused him to lose balance a lot when he took hits

    • @rusirumunasinghe7354

      Mesut YSH this stuff is mostly for amateurs not pro elites.

      David Blanks Prince Naseem fought the best fighters at world class level, so he ran
      into all kinds of technical fighters
