    Siku cars of this era are a class above anything else. A super resto result. Did Elliott's Mom drive one in ET - if so a Restomod tribute would be a lovely addition to the fleet 🙂

    Had one of these back in the day. Wish I had all of my Siku cars still.

    Beautifully restored. I forgot that I had one of those as a kid in that green colour. I first remembered when you told/showed the original green Audi 100. My car lost the left hand drivers front door. That 80s era of Siku cars and earlier toys cars with metal base from the 70s are the best IMO. The newer ones from the 90s and 2000s are just not the same quality

    Nice resto. You should use a dental pick to remove paint in recess areas like the gas cap.

    I have that exact model, as original when bought in 1988.
    To match my 1983 5000s I was driving at the time. 🎉🎉

    looking nice and shiny again. :) now we need a restomod where all the chromed bumpers are painted black...
    funny SIKU would use the US version aka Audi5000, as it wasn't sold in germany. the TÜV would throw fits about the typical US position lights and stuff... my brother used to drive the VW Santana in US version for a while, a comission car that wasn't sold in the US, and sent back to germany right away, so had a first german registration. a previous owner had to go to court with TÜV over those puny little lights, and won...

    Nice restoration back to its factory colour Jason. I'm not entirely sure that would have been available from Audi themselves. The overall design aesthetic dates back to the NSU and lasted a long time for Audi.

    Nice one Jason.
    I had one in the exact same colour back in the day. Whilst l mainly liked the colour it did seem a bit gaudy but. Very similar to a ford granada mk2 at the rear.
    Still good job all round.
    Keep 'er lit ya boy ye

    Hi im korean collector. I want make my old matchbox/tomica like you. I have some problem about painting, so i decide to buy tamiya sprays. Can i use tamiya metal primer on the tamiya color sprays named "for plastics"? If i use that way, no paint chips?

      Hi, yes I do this all the time. I’m not sure how durable for play they are, but be sure to give the finished models lots of clear coats to help protect it. Hope that helps!

    I think it looked better in blue, nice job though

    • @DieCastRestos
      @DieCastRestos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, the blue is a far nicer colour in all but the previous owners efforts weren’t great sadly. I wanted to restore this one in metallic green for originality and to match it’s predecessor I showed at the end of the video

      @@DieCastRestos yeah I understand what you mean, still you did a fantastic job of restoring it regardless of the colour.

    i have a bad question ? how you destroy a verry good original paint , i restore broken cars

    • @DieCastRestos
      @DieCastRestos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Usually with caustic soda with boiling water, though sometimes (like with this model) I also need to use a liquid paint stripper too
