Thank you dad. Im today watching this video in my smart phone at the comfort of my warm bed in an air conditioned room. I was born in 1988 and I never really faced any issues. I went to an excellent school, I ate nutritious food 4 times day, had access to computers right from when I was in my 2nd grade, wore amazing clothes and travelled in cars. But my dad was born in 1958 and he was born in a lower middle class family and he almost faced all the issues which are being shown in this video. My dad's life changed when he got a job in a government bank in 1980. When I was born, he decided and promised himself that, his son will never face any issues he faced. And he kept his promise. For his son and his daughter. My dad is my hero.

Dad had to work really hard to grow up in career ladder before asking my mom's hand with her father. Mom is from Hyderabad, was ruled by Nizam king before freedom and it was largely it's own country with a well established education, transport, economy & job system. People (families) flourished here and were united. Grandpa worked as a banker for the king. Dad was from Andhra Pradesh (Madras state then), which was under British control until freedom and the world knows how that turned out.
@@Sritejajeedigunta Madras state had access to higher quality western education even back in the early 17th and 18th centuries. The Nizams did well in trade and certainly were rich. And sure, they established quite some Urdu schools. Let's not kid ourselves and say that they stand a chance with the curriculum that the scientifically and philosophically advanced countries had at the time, which, as it turns out, was in arm's reach for the Madras State at the time. Let's not get carried away while trying to be pretentious about our culture.

The boy in the video is just two years older than me. This video brings back a lot of memories of Bombay. I can still remember having charities for breakfast with tea. The fishing village in this video is similar to Chumbai and Chuim. There was a golf course in Chuim called Danda Green now used for drying fish. The Dhobi clothes washermen was very much as I remember it in 1962. My father, now long dead used to go for Paan in Pali or sometimes near Churchgate. The paan cost 1 Anna about 6 paisa, drinking coconut water on Juhu Beach was 20 paisa back in 1962 . Buyer vada and Brel Puri were very cheap. When my father started working in 1945 his pay was 48 Rupees a month and my mother who worked at Marine Lines was making 45 Rupees a month in 1947(her first job). The barber and the ear wax cleaner I used to see in Bombay around Churchgate and around Bandra.

There were fewer consumer products available in the market. Also there were less knowledge about the lives of people in developed countries like western and central europe, North America, Japan etc. So general people of India naturally did not compare their living conditions to the people of those countries and did not feel deprived. So they were happier

That the western perception for our diet and unfortunately most people have started thinking same, that the perfect diet for any normal man, in today’s senerio people are more focused on calories and proteins... but if we follow Indian diet, ie dal roti sabzi ( greens not paneer) it is a complete diet... carbs are also necessary, and vitamins and minerals are more imp then protiens...

If you want to understand humanity you must include India. Much of our maths and science comes from there but was transmitted by the master Traders - the Arabs.

E.g how Al Khwarizmi's 'Kitab al hind' was translated from most probably Sanskrit texts on quadratic equations & algebraic expressions which got later translated to 'the book of Indian numerals'.

My parents were married in 1967 and lived in Ville Parle. They moved to the USA in 1970 and I was born and raised here in America, but would hear so many stories about Mumbai.
My Father born in Mumbai was same age as that boy. My father is 66 today and have very good vivid memories of Mumbai. After marriage my father and our family settled in a small town called Badlapur in Thane suburbs. I was born in 1984 and I truely enjoyed my youth and now currently overseas.
That boy might be an senior citizen today. His family today might be middle class living in a nice apartment in suburbs of mumbai or any other city. Or it is also possible that his son has migrated to US or UK or some wealthy nation and have a prosperous life.

My life as a kid was really like a king compared to kids in 1960s. I appreciate my fate as i was born in the modern era and never saw any poverty and lack of money and started using computer right from kindergarten.
I remember My age was almost similar to Sachay. My parents were well to do. They are no more now. I thank them for their blessings. They fed me well, sent me to School, later I did BSc from Delhi University. After that I went to Vienna University where I finished my MBA and finally PhD in Finance. Though my connection with India has bit diluted as no more in family there. But my love for India will remain ever green. My matrubhumi. My great India.

India has two maps. One with Jammu and Kashmir another without. Both of them are used internationally. And in 1967 it would have been common to use that map because it was disputed and India did not oppose it much. There's no need to get offended by it when it was made in a different era.

Thank you dad. Im today watching this video in my smart phone at the comfort of my warm bed in an air conditioned room. I was born in 1988 and I never really faced any issues. I went to an excellent school, I ate nutritious food 4 times day, had access to computers right from when I was in my 2nd grade, wore amazing clothes and travelled in cars.
But my dad was born in 1958 and he was born in a lower middle class family and he almost faced all the issues which are being shown in this video. My dad's life changed when he got a job in a government bank in 1980. When I was born, he decided and promised himself that, his son will never face any issues he faced. And he kept his promise. For his son and his daughter. My dad is my hero.

Mom is from Hyderabad, was ruled by Nizam king before freedom and it was largely it's own country with a well established education, transport, economy & job system. People (families) flourished here and were united. Grandpa worked as a banker for the king.
Dad was from Andhra Pradesh (Madras state then), which was under British control until freedom and the world knows how that turned out.

And sure, they established quite some Urdu schools. Let's not kid ourselves and say that they stand a chance with the curriculum that the scientifically and philosophically advanced countries had at the time, which, as it turns out, was in arm's reach for the Madras State at the time. Let's not get carried away while trying to be pretentious about our culture.

The boy in the video is just two years older than me. This video brings back a lot of memories of Bombay. I can still remember having charities for breakfast with tea. The fishing village in this video is similar to Chumbai and Chuim. There was a golf course in Chuim called Danda Green now used for drying fish. The Dhobi clothes washermen was very much as I remember it in 1962. My father, now long dead used to go for Paan in Pali or sometimes near Churchgate. The paan cost 1 Anna about 6 paisa, drinking coconut water on Juhu Beach was 20 paisa back in 1962 . Buyer vada and Brel Puri were very cheap.
When my father started working in 1945 his pay was 48 Rupees a month and my mother who worked at Marine Lines was making 45 Rupees a month in 1947(her first job).
The barber and the ear wax cleaner I used to see in Bombay around Churchgate and around Bandra.

Without these crucial ideas and technologies from the East, and without the $45 trillion of wealth that Britain looted from India alone, not to mention the trillions in wealth hoarded from other colonies, Britain and other Western countries would have never been able to invent and discover anything solely on their own. They needed the crucial fundamentals of these mathematical and scientific and metallurgical concepts and technologies from the East, along with trillions in stolen capital to finance research into these technologies, so that they had the money and time and resources to discover new concepts and ideas, while building on what they learned from the East.
In other words, all of those things you mentioned, the internet, the phone, light bulbs, etc, are a product of the collaboration between the East and the West. So never make the mistake of thinking that the West did the world a favor by inventing these things in a vacuum. No, they didn’t do anyone any favors anymore than the Indians and Chinese did the world a favor by inventing and discovering key technologies and concepts that the British and others used to invent new things. Without us, the West would never have invented any of these things. The only difference is, the East developed all of these technologies without stealing ideas and money from the West, while the West did it by stealing and appropriating money, ideas and technologies from the East, particularly in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
Starting in the 20th century, and towards the end of the 19th Century, research and scientific progress became more collaborative, and the West and East openly shared ideas and worked collaboratively, which has accelerated the pace of development greatly. So remember, never talk about inventions and discoveries, otherwise you will also have to give us back all of those inventions without which the modern world and indeed the industrial revolution would never have occurred. Start by giving us back the Hindu numeral system and all of the mathematical concepts without which the entire world would cease to function. You couldnt do it even if you wanted to. Only fools think that the West is Superior, when the East has been on top for most of history, both economically and technologically, not to mention militarily. The Great Khan of Mongolia, and their allied Turkic and Hunnic peoples created the greatest and largest empire in the world, more than any British or European person, and ruled over the richest empires as well. Western history pales in comparison.

We have a high-carb low-protein diet that's less nutritious than other countries that consume more protein and lesser carbs.

The fact is, science was first cultivated in the East, as the East was the earliest place to have a civilization, back when Englishmen and Europeans were living in the caves and in the jungle and moving around as nomadic barbarians. Indian and China independently developed their own civilization, as did Egypt and Mesopotamia. Europe had no civilization to speak of, and only got civilized after getting migrants from the Middle East. They continued to get more refined and civilized through the ages thanks to the influence of the Egyptians and the Indians and the Chinese, as the Arabs transmitted the ideas and technologies of these civilizations to the West, in addition to adding some novel observations of their own into the mix. Secondly, Indian philosophy heavily influenced Greek Philosophy and Islamic epistemology, which is what led to the development of the scientific method.
Indian philosophy laid the groundwork for scientific inquiry and research methodologies, and the Greeks who were living in India at the time, learned this from the Indians and transmitted it to Europe. Indians also created the first scientific method, which the Arabs made commentaries on, and then transmitted it to Europe, where it was slightly modified into its current form. The Chinese and the Indians were well aware of the practical usefulness of science well before Europe even existed. Finally, the British invented none of those things by themselves, nor did they invent them to benefit humanity.
Apart from using stolen wealth and knowledge from the East to do their own research and invent new things, the British invented such things out of greed and necessity, and were reluctant to share their knowledge with other countries. In fact, they were renowned plagializers who stole know-how and technology from countries like China and India and claimed it as their own, such as the case of Campion and others like him in England. Furthermore, when they did decide to sell this technology to other countries, like the railways in India, they sold it at a much higher price and effectively made the Indians pay for the construction of many other things in England. So they were never concerned with humanity and benevolence. They only had money and greed on their mind.
Besides, Such technologies were invented as part of an international collaboration, including Asians. Did Westerners invent all of that in a vacuum? Absolutely NOT. Where did the Zinc and Copper to make the first battery come from? India. Who invented the first dry battery? Japan. Who assisted Edison in the development of the first lightbulb? Lewis Latimer, an African American. What was the first lightbulb filament built using? Japanese bamboo. Where did the Steel and cast iron that formed the backbone of the industrial revolution and the industrial methods of production for these metals come from? India and China. Who invented the complex loom and the spinning wheel that was the precursor of the Spinning Jenny, that in turn was the major element of the textile industry in the Industrial revolution? India and China. Where did the main elements of the machinery of the steam engine, one of the main forces behind the industrial revolution and indeed the very first rudimentary steam engine come from? China. Where did the numeral system you and I use including the decimal number system and zero, simple arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, geometry and calculus and indeed all of the fundamentals and many of the most advanced components of math come from? India. Where did the compass, printing press and paper and ink come from? China. Where did gunpowder, cannons and indeed the first rudimentary combustion engine in the form of the cannon come from? China.
These and so many more things, such as the very first ships and dry docks, the first cotton clothing and spices, sugar and many other scientific concepts in Astronomy, Surgery, Medicine and Linguistics came from India. All computers run on a framework of computer languages invented by an Indian named Panini, it is called Panini Backus form. Charles Babbage who is credited as the creator of the first computer, was heavily influenced by Indian logic and mathematics when created his own computer. No computer today would exist without binary code, an invention from India. Let’s not forget that half of all components in computers and phones and technology today comes from the Far East, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and China, and many of these crucial components were invented in Japan and Korea as well. Where was wireless communication invented? India, Jagdish Bose invented wireless communication and also the first semiconductors, crucial components of all high tech devices today. The internet depends on the transmission of information using a protocol that was invented in Japan, and uses Fiber optics and other such technologies that were invented by the Indians and the Taiwanese. There are thousands of other crucial inventions from the East, about half of all the technology in the world today, that I don’t have time to list here.
Without these crucial ideas and technologies from the East, and without the $45 trillion of wealth that Britain looted from India alone, not to mention the trillions in wealth hoarded from other colonies, Britain and other Western countries would have never been able to invent and discover anything solely on their own. They needed the crucial fundamentals of these mathematical and scientific and metallurgical concepts and technologies from the East, along with trillions in stolen capital to finance research into these technologies, so that they had the money and time and resources to discover new concepts and ideas, while building on what they learned from the East. In other words, all of those things, the internet, the phone, light bulbs, etc, are a product of the collaboration between the East and the West.
So never make the mistake of thinking that the West did the world a favor by inventing these things in a vacuum. No, they didn’t do anyone any favors anymore than the Indians and Chinese did the world a favor by inventing and discovering key technologies and concepts that the British and others used to invent new things. Without us, the West would never have invented any of these things. The only difference is, the East developed all of these technologies without stealing ideas and money from the West, while the West did it by stealing and appropriating money, ideas and technologies from the East, particularly in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Starting in the 20th century, and towards the end of the 19th Century, research and scientific progress became more collaborative, and the West and East openly shared ideas and worked collaboratively, which has accelerated the pace of development greatly.
So remember, never talk about inventions and discoveries, otherwise you will also have to give us back all of those inventions without which the modern world wouldn’t exist and indeed without which the industrial revolution would never have occurred. Start by giving us back the Hindu numeral system and all of the mathematical concepts from India, without which the entire world would cease to function. What about Steel, metal alloys, Iron production on an industrial scale and blast furnaces? Or how about things like the belt drive and crankshafts and other crucial mechanical components of engines that were invented in China? Let’s not forget the mechanical clock and it’s gears and mechanical technology like the escapement, also from China, would clocks and time keeping be the same? No. Even Nuclear science owes a huge debt to Nishina, a Japanese scientist who first recognized the immense amount of energy that could be harnessed by spitting the atom. The modern atomic model also owes a huge debt to Nagaoka, another Japanese scientist that correct the incorrect plum pudding model of a British scientist. You couldn’t give these things back even if you wanted to, and this is only scratching the surface of tech and knowledge from the East that the West depends on everyday. The West wouldn’t be what it is without the East. It is not a viable proposition. Only fools like you would say otherwise.

My Father born in Mumbai was same age as that boy. My father is 66 today and have very good vivid memories of Mumbai. After marriage my father and our family settled in a small town called Badlapur in Thane suburbs. I was born in 1984 and I truely enjoyed my youth and now currently overseas.

My life as a kid was really like a king compared to kids in 1960s. I appreciate my fate as i was born in the modern era and never saw any poverty and lack of money and started using computer right from kindergarten.
I remember My age was almost similar to Sachay. My parents were well to do. They are no more now. I thank them for their blessings. They fed me well, sent me to School, later I did BSc from Delhi University. After that I went to Vienna University where I finished my MBA and finally PhD in Finance. Though my connection with India has bit diluted as no more in family there. But my love for India will remain ever green. My matrubhumi. My great India.

India has two maps. One with Jammu and Kashmir another without.
Both of them are used internationally. And in 1967 it would have been common to use that map because it was disputed and India did not oppose it much.
