Finding the right size makes a difference. I started with the A 5's but they get heavy if you want to have a journal with you at all times. I ended up falling in love with the A6 and discovered that if i get a Extra wide in the pocket it fits my A6 stalogy perfectly and that is what i get now. Thanks for sharing and glad you found your size.
Gorgeous collection! I am so happy I got a Scout as well. It’s such a beautiful combination. I never owned a Maverick before, so the Scout and Creme combination is lovely together to me. I also have my Leuchtturm 1917 notebook in my pocket Scout. Thanks a bunch for sharing your collection. Blessings, Jen
God, Family, Craft, Travel Repeat you’re welcome, and thank you as well! Congratulations on your own little scout. The maverick and creme leather combination is marvelous.
It was a lot of fun seeing your collection!!! Pocket size is a favorite of mine too! I also love the deluxe as it makes them thick and nicely shaped! Thank you for the fun video!!!
Chris Saenz hello Chris! Thank you for stopping by! I hope your back is on the mend, and you’re enjoying all the beautiful inks as always. Enjoy your pocket notebooks! :D
Lovely collection to keep touch and look at ...I love the feel of really good solid leather ...and writing on good paper with a lovely leather cover and a good feeling fountain pen is heaven gives you a real peaceful feeling I believe 👍🇦🇺🌍😷☕️

AdventureDenali I bring sometimes 3 notebooks to the beach where I KNOW I won’t get a chance to even take them out of the bag. 🤣it makes me happy knowing they are with me. 🤪
Beautiful collection! I like how you have made a note of when you received them, I don't think I am brave enough to write directly on the leather haha I have stamped on the leather before, but I don't think I would be able to write on it :) Thank you so much for sharing your collection here! (Btw, I too, would prefer to unplug and be outdoors! Sounds like you had an amazing time!)
MyLifeMits thank you so much! I’ve only ever written in the pockets, something about them makes me feel they’ll be around forever... but I suppose that could very well change someday. I’ve thought about getting leather stamps though, and doing that instead! I could wash out the pen pretty easily I think. And yes, it was an amazing time indeed. :)
Two videos in one week, thank you for spoiling us! I have a bit of a Galen Leather hobonichi weeks cover collection, so I completely understand having a whole bunch of the optimal to you sized journal covers. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful covers, the last olive green one was breathtaking!
Loved seeing your lovely little bunny-rabbit family of TNs! My chic sparrow (pocket-size, deluxe creme-brulee I bought several years ago) is an only child, as my budget just doesn't allow me to add to the family right now. That said, she is loved and used and patina'd and stained and I love her to bits. It's so much fun to see others love journaling (and all the goodies that go along with it) as much as I do! :) PS: have you ever thought of sending your lesser-used journals to stay with someone else for awhile so you don't have to sell them? My friend and I often "foster" each other's notebook covers when we aren't using them, and we trust each other so we know they'll come back having been in loving hands and having had new adventures. :) If you've got a trusted journal friend, it's also a fun way to get to know various sizes/leathers with a bit less expense. Just a thought! Love your videos, have a wonderful day!
heidiology an only child to absorb all the love and dings and patina sounds marvelous. I bet she’s so special. What an amazing concept! I’d never thought to do such a thing!
Loved seeing your collection. I completely understand the “welcome home” feeling when a new cover is delivered. If I don’t get that warm fuzzy feeling, I’ll pass it along. Sometimes it’s hard when they are so beautiful, but I feel bad when it’s just sitting around not being enjoyed. And yes I’m talking about an inanimate object too. Haha
AdventureDenali Hello! No but I am Andrea and was the one who reached out to you on instagram. 🙈 I had been watching your youtube videos for a while. 🤣 Lola knows me as well from Chic Sparrow Facebook group. 😬🤣
I've been tinkering with the idea of getting into journaling so a few months ago I began just jotting down my daily activities and my usual absurd observations about people and life in general in a really fountain pen unfriendly 3 subject notebook that I had lying around. Lately I've thought about falling deeper into the rabbit hole and purchasing a fountain pen friendly note book and leather cover to go along with that. I was unsure about what size I'd like to start off with and I was thinking A5 but after watching you go through your journals I am now leaning more towards pocket size. So just for that I give your video 2 thumbs up 👍👍 and 2 snaps 👌👌. BTW I also think that the Colonel Brandon is rather special as olive green is also one of my favorite colors 🎨. Thanks for sharing and of course :).
Jeff Schwartz that is wonderful Jeff! It’s great to simply start, to begin the development of a habit, whatever the materials used. But, there is something quite special about using tools that feel like they offer even more than simply a space to write. (Although, a 3 subject notebook can certainly feel that way too.)
You may have just actually solved my dilemma of what size CS I want. I did not know the Leuchtturn 1917 comes in a pocket size. For the past two years I've been in the 1917 as a BJ, with no cover. The Colonel Brandon is beautiful!
paddlegal wonderful! Yeah, it came down to wanting something easier to carry around and also still being able to use the Leuchtturm, which is still my favorite journal.
@@adventuredenali Seems I do indeed own a 1917 pocket. It's the one I use as my workout journal. Busted! Since I forgot about it that means I haven't been working out! My bad!

Jennifer Lee it makes a great wallet too, it’s true! Also, the earl grey is beautiful, I bet that looks great all beat up. Are you on Instagram? We can communicate there if so.
@@adventuredenali Yes, I'm actually one of your followers on Instagram. :) I've been watching your videos since your A5 Buttered Rum and Maverick days. Don't mind me, I'm having a fan girl moment here haha. I'll send you a private message. :)
If you have a book you love with a cover in mot so hot shape, you could use that journal cover for your book. I received an Oberon raven journal as a gift before I got into journaling and for a time used it as a cover for a Poe collection.
Pocket Deluxe is my favorite CS, too. Maverick is my all-time favorite leather, but I have about 6-7 more that I rotate each month. The olive green isn’t something I’m normally drawn to, but I am now on the notification list for when it comes back in stock. Enjoyed the video. Not too long at all!
Thank you! It’s a really fun size. I hope to rotate through these little guys regularly too, with the changing of a new journal. I never thought I’d want a color other than brown or black, but that green is captivating.
Such a beautiful collection! I love your mini printer set up, such a creative use for a tn. If you haven't already found a home for the a6 eclass I'd be glad to adopt :) Happy travels!

Did I tell you that it is YOUR collection that inspires much of what I include in mine? 😉 I’ve even downsized to favoring Pocket/A6!! Never thought I would see the day. 😳 LOVE LOVE LOVE your collection so much!! I had been going back and forth about selling my A5 Deluxe Golden Maverick too. But I missed out on the Scout (wanted a Pocket Deluxe too), so I’ll likely hold on to it at least until I possibly get a Scout in 2021. Hoping for one, anyway. 😓

Hi there. Thanks for sharing your collection. I need to say that I am fascinating by this brand I am looking for forward for purchasing one? I have a question: you are speaking about another brand that you called it as being your favorite. Could you please send me the name of it? I would like to take a look on their website. Thank you, best regards from Belgium , Camélia
I do envy the choice available to those who don't mind leather. Personally, I can't use it, and it's hard to find quality well-designed items at a reasonable price.
archivist17 oh yes, I understand. Are you familiar with Documented.Journey on Instagram? She sells cork TNs. I am also in the process of making felted folios, are you avoiding all animal products?
@@adventuredenali Ooh, thank you for such a kind reply. Yes, although I'm not vegan, I do avoid animal products wherever possible. I will have a look at Documented Journey for options and ideas.

Oh my heart goes out to you. I can’t imagine what that must be like. Only just little pieces of it, as I taught via zoom before summer break. What a mess. It’s tragic, seeing the kids through a monitor. So disconnected. I hope this year passes quickly, and if you need to - I hope you can also find an alternative way. Take care, be well
I just found your channel and it's such a treat to watch your videos! I love the pens, being a new collector, and I love the travelers notebooks as well. Do you have an etsy shop? Keep them coming. :)
The Image Ink hello and welcome! I don’t have an Etsy shop... yet! I have plans to open up a little journaling/pen related shop. It’s all in the works, but nothing has been solidified just yet. :)
I saw an A5 deluxe maverick (and a classic pocket) on Mercari, just letting you know you mentioned that you regret selling yours! The a5 maverick is being sold for quite a high price though, but I suppose it’s understandable because it’s discontinued. Love all your covers, hope you’re doing well!! 🥰
I recently purchased my first traveler's notebook, and I wondered if I could trouble you for some advice? Do you condition yours? If so, do you notice any issues with the conditioner pulling out the dye? I've noticed that happening in some tutorials. I really want to take proper care of this notebook, but I'm concerned about ruining the design in the process. Any advice you might have would be greatly appreciated!
Hello and congratulations! It depends on the leather you have. I’ve only ever put mineral oil on my creme leather, and Shea butter on my mr. Darcy. Not something I tend to do, I just happened to be using those things for something else and had extra so I rubbed some in. I don’t know what balms should be used, or how often, and each leather may react I differently. Sorry I can’t be any more helpful than that.
sympatheia I had to use an awl to puncture the leather scraps. It wasn’t necessary, as that particular leather was super soft, but it made it a lot easier in the long run. And I just lined up the new leather with the TN and used the holes in the TN as a guide for where to puncture the new ones. The thread was cotton waxed thread.
It was a slow process I suppose. Helped by traveling and camping adventures in which I really didn’t want to lug around such a large journal set up. I also, enjoy a tiny purse with minimal objects and weight, so that factored in as well. Plus, I’ve just really enjoyed how “hold-able” this size is. Initially, it was a struggle, and even recently did I wonder how it would feel to be in an A5 again. But, I think those days may be gone. I also enjoy being able to quickly move through a journal, and change the cover out each time I do.
Haha! Well, I’m sure it’s different for everyone. For me, it becomes somewhat of a familiar friend I want to take every where. Something comfortable, like a pair of pajamas. I sometimes feel silly, for cherishing them so much. But there are memories, moods, feelings, wrapped up in those covers.
Having watched a fair number of your videos recently, I’ve come to the conclusion that while our personalities are not that similar, many of our interests seem to intersect. In that way, I feel we probably have a lot in common. Are you, in fact, a Gemini? I am. 😊

Take care, be well
@@adventuredenali You are so right. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
Cute👌
Abigail Hortencia thanks :)
Jayne Slater thanks for letting me know! I’m happy to just have the baby version though, hehe.
What size journal fits in the pocket traveler’s notebook? What kind of printer is that and how do you use it?
Duh, I just found your video about the Chic Sparrow you modded for your mini-printer.
I've been on a search for an a6 eclass! They stopped making them in May
Karol Jimenez that was a short lived run, I’m so surprised!
Karol Jimenez hope you find it!
I still HAVEN'T found it 😐
I recently purchased my first traveler's notebook, and I wondered if I could trouble you for some advice?
@@adventuredenali Thank you so much! :)
Can you give me any tips for adding inner pockets to my classic TN? Did you use a leather punch kit? And what type of thread?
sympatheia I had to use an awl to puncture the leather scraps. It wasn’t necessary, as that particular leather was super soft, but it made it a lot easier in the long run. And I just lined up the new leather with the TN and used the holes in the TN as a guide for where to puncture the new ones. The thread was cotton waxed thread.
@@adventuredenali perfect, that's super helpful! Thanks.
LOL ....... they do seem to multiply quickly....
Buy&Sell hahaha, indeed!
Lovely video! If you ever decide to sell the a5 I would be so happy to get it 2nd hand 🥰
Thank you! I may have misspoke, I don’t have anymore A5 chic sparrows. Just the B6, A6, and pockets.
Oh sorry, I misunderstood!
Alice Silver Delta no problem! XD
😭😭😭😭 You sold your beautiful A5 Maverick???? Omg I totally want that one.
Ms. Hill yeah :/ sad. But, now I have a baby one! XD
@@adventuredenali I have a Chic Sparrow A6 Waypoint Starry Night notebook... I'm so afraid of messing it up. Is it recommended to keep these covered?
Weird question. When you insert a new journal into your covers, do you run the elastic through the spine of the journal and tie the elastic?
Gloria Villanueva not weird at all! I run two elastics, one on the inside of each flap.
@@adventuredenali Okay cool! I saw somewhere else where someone ran the elastic through the spine. I think I'll just stick to your method. Thank you!
When is Bean going to get his own youtube channel. Weekly vlogs, Favourite foods etc.
Hahaha Bean should XD But, I don’t think he wants to put in the work...
This is such an inspiring collection
Brenna Dilley hey! Are you on Instagram? I could send you a message there about the eclass. :)
@@adventuredenali I am! My handle is @bdilley5 :) Look forward to hearing from you!
The pocket-size seems sooo small how did you get over that since I think you used to use an A5?
It was a slow process I suppose. Helped by traveling and camping adventures in which I really didn’t want to lug around such a large journal set up. I also, enjoy a tiny purse with minimal objects and weight, so that factored in as well. Plus, I’ve just really enjoyed how “hold-able” this size is. Initially, it was a struggle, and even recently did I wonder how it would feel to be in an A5 again. But, I think those days may be gone. I also enjoy being able to quickly move through a journal, and change the cover out each time I do.
At 1:57 did you mean pocket sized Creme, not Pemberly?
Haha its so funny(and good) to see you and Lola's mutual appreciation for each other's contents
jnfrle ooh yes, haha! Once again, I accidentally have called it the Pemberly! That seems to be permanently burned into my memory bank, haha.
te a faltado la maverik deluxe A5
jose miguel canet the missed maverick?
Have you sold your older E-class crème? If you haven’t & are interested in selling it please let me know!!
Do you still have your Maverick A5? I always adored that cover
Rainyday no, it’s the one sold cover that I regret selling. But, I still don’t think I’d use it. I just don’t use the A5 size much anymore.
@@adventuredenali ah shame! I would have bought it off you in a heartbeat. That's the cover that inspired me to start journaling more
If you decide to sell any of your first covers please let me know. I’ve been wanting one so so so BAD.
Oh gosh, I had never thought of it! Maybe I could in the future! :o
l really do not understand the collecting of Chic Sparrow covers, it is a mystery to me.
I am. 😊
First! Good morning!
Vintage Life good morning to you too, sir!
