You must open your heart to him, and truly accept him as your saviour first. Only then can you truly know and listen to him. Having said that, God is with you regardless at every step. Even the seemingly wrong paths we take are part of his plan, and regardless of how much we mess up he will always make the best of it. It's normal to panic, but we just can't see the bigger picture. That sense of direction will come in time, as you learn to accept him in your life.
I know how you feel... I always heard stories about how God has done these amazing things for people, and I wondered why He never did any of that for me. I wondered if He was really present in my life, and if He really cared. I went to confession, the priest gave me brilliant advice that really helped. I know God loves you, and that he has a reason for everything He does. Ask Him for His mercy and never ever give up. And also know that I'll be praying for you :)
+Grow me something mister! I strayed for years believing people were just kidding themselves until I experienced God myself. When he genuinely calls to you, you'll know it. In the moment I truly knew God, every other previous impression was shattered. Nothing compares to that feeling, and it's the reason I'll never stray again. Though I do think that this is why we need to open our hearts to him first. I think we need to be ready as individuals for it, and we need to be able to listen to what he has to say. Another thing, if you have concerns or doubs about your beliefs, work through them. Don't ever be afraid to question things. For me, many things that didn't quite seem right then make sense now. My Grandmother passed away and my family is heartbroken with the news. She was 90 years old. She taught all of her children and grandchildren also great grandchildren to help out our neighbors and friends also family. We will miss her so much. You must open your heart to him, and truly accept him as your saviour first. Only then can you truly know and listen to him.
Having said that, God is with you regardless at every step. Even the seemingly wrong paths we take are part of his plan, and regardless of how much we mess up he will always make the best of it. It's normal to panic, but we just can't see the bigger picture. That sense of direction will come in time, as you learn to accept him in your life.
I know how you feel... I always heard stories about how God has done these amazing things for people, and I wondered why He never did any of that for me. I wondered if He was really present in my life, and if He really cared. I went to confession, the priest gave me brilliant advice that really helped. I know God loves you, and that he has a reason for everything He does. Ask Him for His mercy and never ever give up. And also know that I'll be praying for you :)
+Grow me something mister! I strayed for years believing people were just kidding themselves until I experienced God myself. When he genuinely calls to you, you'll know it. In the moment I truly knew God, every other previous impression was shattered. Nothing compares to that feeling, and it's the reason I'll never stray again.
Though I do think that this is why we need to open our hearts to him first. I think we need to be ready as individuals for it, and we need to be able to listen to what he has to say. Another thing, if you have concerns or doubs about your beliefs, work through them. Don't ever be afraid to question things. For me, many things that didn't quite seem right then make sense now.

My Grandmother passed away and my family is heartbroken with the news. She was 90 years old. She taught all of her children and grandchildren also great grandchildren to help out our neighbors and friends also family. We will miss her so much. we sing this hymn every Sunday in the Catholic chuch I belong too!! It's my favorite. On a sad note this played at my nephew (15 years old) funeral. He died of an asthma attack 1 1/2 yrs ago, so it bring tears every time. In Christ's name, Amen.
