In this video, I will show you how to install a Shark Fin Antenna on a 2012 Chevy Cruze. This install should be the same as the Sonic.
NOTE: I did cut my OEM antenna to retrieve the bolt/fastener that was on it. Reason I did that is because you can't find that bolt anywhere. Do what you want, but this is what I did.
Tools needed:
Extra 3M Tape (optional)
Knife
Micro Fiber Cloth with Cleaner

I don't like the way that shark fin antenna fits on that roof line...that fin should be radiused to the same profile as the ruuuf...
+JDE yeah, I know what you mean, but still think it is better than the factory RC style antenna. But, on the new Cruze’s, they come with the shark fin antenna stock. For about $50 online, you can replace the old one for one of those.

dude what kinda antenna do you have because my cruze has that fat ass black thing that the antenna screws into, and mine didn’t fit at all ?

so 4 years later, do you still have this on the car? was the 3m able to hold the fin down? been searching for a fin that'll cover that base and was never able to find one. thought about buying OEM for another GM model but didn't want to sink over 100$ on a part that might not work.
btw, the antenna to the radio isn't using the rc antenna on top. you shouldn't of had any change in reception. I think the RC antenna is for the xm and GPS OnStar. the radio antenna is in the windshield.
What's the dimensions for the shark fin I need to know that to know what size I should purchases it in I brought one that was too small I'm regretting on eBay could you help?

I doubt the reception will be the same as the RC antenna on top is for the xm.
