On Labor Day, my wife and I took a drive pulling the stock trailer to look a young registered Angus bull and decided to pay the man and hauled the bull back home with us. Unloaded him and fed him and the other stock, drove around the pasture and checked the herd and finished the evening having some nice steak fajitas with all the fixins. A very nice Labor Day for sure!
I grew up on a Dairy Farm. "Government Holidays" just meant you didn't get any bills in the mail that Monday.😂 Thanksgiving was the only one that wasn't a Christian day, like Easter or Christmas, that we adjusted our schedule for. July 4 and New Year's Eve were great, we could celebrate at night with fireworks and parties after we finished the day's work. New Year's often meant a nap before I had to start the new year in with the morning milking. But that was my fault 😮👍🤣
In my younger days of my 72 years. We worked on Laboring Day just like any other day. I think it killed me about 7 or 8 times. But you know what, we never missed a meal.
You tease us when you clip the videos with a 1010 std and an L with cultivator, what's with those tractors? Future projects? As far as my labor intensive Labor Day, I'm retired with our animals consisting of two dogs, It was too hot for heavy labor so I "tinkered" in the shop. I was able to break loose the rusted adjustment shafts on my 58 year of John Deere 4020 3 pt, that took way too much heat and a pipe wrench with a 4' cheater. Couple days earlier I got the lower arms extensions to function. That was quite the project and without a lathe and milling machine it's going to cost almost $200.00 at Mother Deere for the "lower arm locks" and 2 grease seals in the adjustment lift shafts.
I must admit there is something soothing about Givin old equipment some grease
Your right crab grass makes fine hay . And people here used to set Tobacco on memorial day and start cutting on labor day.
Bill I love your videos you are the man God bless you
You’re so funny Bill, God Bless

Labor day is a day the unions said they would strike to get out of working.
And they have been expanding on getting out of work ever since.
Seems to me there is ample hot air in that town east of your hay field to dry your hay as well as some of your neighbors!
HaHa, the problem is, that all smells too fishy!😁
