    I also think it’s so cool that your boss lets you record your work day. I’ve worked for so many guys who would think it’s just a huge waste of time or distraction to record what is happening. You work for some good guys man!

    We will staple the sill sealer to the bottom of the plate with a hammer tacker so it is there and we don’t have to worry about it. Works well if it’s windy to.

    I'm jealous that you have such nice even ground to work on. Last 3 sites I worked at, I could barely get a decent footing without tripping over clumps of dirt and rock and weird little uneven mounds and steep slopes by the foundation.

    90% of this job seems like measurements and discussing plans
    but very nicely done for sure
    Working with steel in the winter months does NOT sound enjoyable one bit lol but the work doesn’t do it self.

    How does one get into this career, is it worth it in the long run?

    • @certifiedladderholder
      @certifiedladderholder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s a few ways you can get into this trade! The one I used being laboring for a residential framing crew and learning from there. There’s also trade schools, or union apprenticeships. Each have their own benefits. It is most definitely worth it in the long run if you love it🙏

    Soooo...... I'm gonna buy my first expensive toolbelt soon and I'm torn between the one you're wearing in this video and the Fatlip comfort set with the 5" belt. My worry with the comfort set is that the bags aren't fixed so they might move around, though I could probably rig up a fix for that. How do you fair with those back pain wise without suspenders directly attached to the belt? I'd like to run suspenders on my pants instead of the toolbelt. Any insight would be appreciated.

    • @certifiedladderholder
      @certifiedladderholder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gotcha man! The belt I'm wearing in this video actually treats my back fairly well without suspenders. I can only imagine how good the comfort set must feel. As for the bags moving around, I punched holes in the leather on my full leather set and ran a zip tie through them. Haha also I had recently tried switching to suspenders on my pants instead of my belt. Essential Craftsman made me do it🤣I actually really liked how it felt

    • @johnwalker4268
      @johnwalker4268 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@certifiedladderholder Thanks for the info. Yeah, I've had my belt rigged with suspenders for a couple years now and my pants still find a way to fall down even though I have a belt on and I don't imagine 2 pairs of suspenders would be comfortable so I'm looking towards the essential craftsman way too. It doesn't help that I'm indecisive I just wish they made a comfort belt with fixed bags and took off the tape pouch on the right side. I'll probably end up cutting it off if I do go that route. Was also thinking about mix and matching pouches but the ones without the tape holder on the right also have less tool slots from what I can tell. Decisions, decisions. Thanks again for the reply.

    Most plans do not allow backfill until framing is set? Was your plans different?

    • @certifiedladderholder
      @certifiedladderholder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love the question! So with this job site, we framed the floor almost right when backfilling was being finished. Just because the boss Eric wanted to get the whole concrete foundation locked in before temperatures dropped to under -10 degrees F. It insured that the foundation walls were all locked into the floor framing before freezing and cracking occurred.

    • @certifiedladderholder
      @certifiedladderholder  ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion there’s no wrong way to get into carpentry. Just do your research of whats around locally, whether it be a union apprenticeship program, a trade school, or working directly for a residential contractor which is what I did out of high school. Pick what seems right for you. There’s a lot of companies who need solid reliable guys. As long as you learn with passion and respect, you’ll succeed anywhere🙏
