Everyone who's watching this and thinking about becoming an agent needs to stop right now and drop the idea from their head consider literally any other form of employment do not pursue this I am telling you the truth because I wasted so much time energy effort and money trying to become a border patrol agent. Still, many other people for which the polygraph is meant to filter out those that don't have the moral character become an agent.... but the truth (and this is the TRUTH) - is it's just used as a tool to keep these polygraph examiners employed - it doesn't matter who you are what background you come from how Christian of a life you've led up to this point. You're more likely to fail just because of some bureaucrat who needs a job I've wasted so much time and effort into this clown show. The audacity of the polygraph examiners is that they will ask someone to come back a second time for a 2nd polygraph - with zero intention to pass them the second time they will fail before walking in the door the 2nd time, no different than the 1st. Why? Because they get a whopping huge percentage of the $2200 it takes for the U.S. government to pay for the test itself. YES! It is that fucked up. BTW, the process to even get as far as the polygraph is.... immense. So you will be in a position where you have spent countless hours at doctors, structured interviews, filling out probably 200 forms, tests, exams, more doctors appointments, pre-security interview, background check (federal, it is like 50 pages long and extremely detailed with 32 different sections, enjoy), AND MORE. Then finally, at the very end is the polygraph. Confident? You shouldn't be. Brilliant men and women go in there with an impeccable record. And fail. Twice. It does not matter. The polygraph examiners are doing this for the $$$$ and for job security. There is no other federal agency who fails at even half the rate as the border patrol. DEA fail rate is 36%, CIA is 35%, FBI 30%.... Border Patrol is 75%. There are polygraph examiners with 100% fail rate (Del Rio Texas, Tampa Florida, and more). Let that sink in for a moment. And these people are have been doing this for years. There is no accountability and they are making bank. Just don't do it. Read up on the bullshit. Save yourself time & money. make sure your resume is government format, you can use usajobs.gov to do it
Your resume doesn't matter so much as your integrity and ability to be a good agent. If you worked at Shake Shack then that is fine. It looks better if you were military or a police officer, but just apply and go for it. They hire accountants and plumbers and all sorts. If you are a good person then you have a shot.
Now I can't wait to get in with BP lol I love it
Just turned 30 and I am a veteran currently going through the process is that to old would you say?
No way are you too old. You are the average age of applicants in the federal system.
The cutoff is 37. My roommate at the academy was 37. You're fine.
I’m in the national guard and finished basic now I’m going to ranger school. Do border patrol hire national guard? I’m 20 years old
Yes they will.
@Lone Drifter I will say a prayer for you as well. I am also a Catholic deacon!
I was a Marine infantryman when the BP hired me. The Marines let me out a year early since I was taking a position of national security. Check into that. But I think they will still let you do both. I believe it's a law that they let you perform military drill duties and will adjust your schedule.
@@RandPaul-se6jz you wont be fully commited. Im a reservist thinking of getting out. I was CO and i had to leave here and there. It affects my coworkers
@@RandPaul-se6jz can I contact you in any way? I’ve passed all my exams medical and poly and am getting closer to my EAS as well just need more info on the early release program. Thank you
I have a felony for mdma possession 8 years ago. Do you think I’d have a chance at a waiver?
A family friend is a CBP agent and thinks I still have a chance anyway. I’m just not so sure and the application process looks long and complicated. I don’t want to waste my time or anyone else’s if I don’t qualify.
Find a lawyer and try to get it expunged. This is good advice. Wish you luck.
Expunging won’t matter. If you want to get in just be upfront. It’s more about morals than a decision you made years ago. If they say no wait a few months and try again !
Thank you for your video sir
Do you get to pick your station?
You are allowed to apply to districts that you are interested in, but not your individual station.
You can pick the station. They will give you a call one day with a full list of locations all over the south border and you pick.
As long as it's on the South West border. ;)
GS-5? As of 2021 that’s only 30k! I have a wife and child, how am I supposed to provide housing & food for them during that time?
Thank you sir!!
wiat you can become border patrol with no interiew?
It's a process, Apply, take the test, oral hiring board interview, polygraph test, medical (basically physical), PT test, background investigator interview, drug test.
I applied, but did not know that I would have to buy my own uniforms. That is crazy!! No thank you, the Army has provided me with free uniforms anytime I've asked and I think it's less dangerous. I think I changed my mind and this video is great to watch beforehand.
You dont buy them. Gov pays for them
You don’t have to purchase uniforms. Gov pays for them
i have a felony.. if I get it expunged can I become a Bp agent?
No
Thousand dollars for uniforms??? Can someone confirm or deny this in 2023?
The government pays for your uniforms, it doesn’t come out of your paycheck
About $800 for rough duty gear 3 pants 3 shirts duty belt boots ect. and a dress duty uniform which you'll have to have if you graduate from the academy. Winter and summer dress uniform. So yeah I can see it being $1000. You get a uniform stipend every year after you're officially employed.
BEPRA pay (Overtime) is not as good as LEAP or AUO or other types offered at other agencies. This is why OFO makes more money at the same pay band than USBP. But its a great job, playing ninja human hunters at night.
How smart do you have to be? I ain’t gonna lie im dumb asf sometimes. I did an iq test and scored 100 which is average. I feel i like can ace everything except for the law part. That im scared the most. It is hard?🤔
When he said "young lady looking at this" 😏
@19:15 oh but it did happen 🤣
It sure did 😂😂
Sir are you still local to California? Do you have an email I can contact you at?
I am in Virginia. My email is jbenisek@swoycc.org
I will love to join CBP, but one I got out of the Navy with a bad knee and I dont think I'll make it in the running pat of the academy, two I was raised in Puerto Rico and I witness all kinds of drugs sales when I was young, so when they ask if I sold drugs before is gonna be complicated answer, anyways I should've went to CBP instead of the Navy, drugs specifically have ruined my Country Puerto Rico.
Massachusetts boy lol remind me of my uncle for some reason
guess what, it haPPENED
@19:10 if anyone be is wondering what this is referencing.
Google brought me here I was looking into joining the border patrol
You say that most of the people you interact with are non-violent people just trying to have a better life.
What line of work if any in the U.S. is the MOST responsible for targeting, undermining, contradicting, killing, or sabotaging the Mexican cartels?? :)
I want to do everything I can to fight them. My heart goes out to the self defense groups in Mexico fending for themselves against torturers, corrupt politicians, and half the Mexican police work for a cartel.
If they were designated terrorists, like they should have been, any armed forces would have been a good choice. But since that is not happening, my thought is that it would be Border Patrol Agents. If this is wrong and there are real badasses out there fucking up the cartels, please let me know.
Lmfaoooo there is non. DEA agents work undercover but not all of them. But if you’re trying to fight them really nothing
Other than police de Matamoros
Years ago when I went to an expedited for a patrol exam in Tennessee can’t remember the year 2003 maybe, anyway it was very crowded very very crowded and just taking the exam along with the boys very crowded it was in a hotel so they didn’t really rent space lol anyway it was a lot of police officers from Texas and at that time you had to speak Spanish or another language, any other language would be the artificial language that the government made up for this exam so you had to know your nouns pronouns or that stuff but I failed that portion. so anytime you hear of an expedited exam move your butt because you do everything their paperwork psychological exam medical and then you get set up with going to Boot Camp. But at this point in time really I’m sorry you don’t need to know a second language would be helpful maybe for extra pay but this is the United States of America they should learn how to speak the language that the foreign language is in this country going to try to live in.

How are they good people if they are assaulting you or smuggling drugs? Doesn’t make sense.
Majority aren't assaulting you
@@elchuzalongo4339 okay there’s a way to enter into the country. You can’t just waltz in. What kind of perimeter is that? Plus why not place the responsibility to the country that is exploiting them?
@@whatever9042 entering legally is a pain in the ass. Overstay your visa and you can't apply for citizenship. It's not as easy as "just enter the country legally". Doesn't change the fact most are good people who are just seeking asylum.
@@elchuzalongo4339 so why not put the blame on the country that is exploiting them. The alternative is open boarders?
@@elchuzalongo4339 I agree, most aliens are decent people just seeking asylum, however there is a legal process to go through, despite how long and arduous it might be. Every one here has to be documented. A huge portion of crime in the southwest is attributed to illegal aliens.
Just don't do it, I'm telling you. Fuck border patrol
Would you recommend the secret service uniformed division? Currently in the application process
You sound hurt. Your opinion is invalid since you’re speaking based on feelings
If trump wins and goes hard on immigration I will join.
