Federal Law Enforcement Careers
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 พ.ย. 2013
The purpose of this channel is to provide information for young people, state and local officers, veterans and the public about the opportunities in the various federal law enforcement agencies, the requirements and training for each and the mission of these agencies. We cover every agency from the FBI to the DOD Police. We also discuss topics of interest to the federal law enforcement community about legal and policy issues that impact the important work done by the agents and officers employed by the United States Government.
AFOSI Seeking Special Agents
The Air Force is offering an internship opportunity that can convert to a permanent career as a GS-1811 Special Agent in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. The program has very struct academic requirements (the strictest I have seen in any agency) and they are apparently seeking to hire people who can be trained to investigate white collar crime such as procurement fraud.

Violent crime rates are soaring in many cities and the federal agencies are being tasked to bring federal charges on those who, in previous years, would have been prosecuted by state and local prosecutors. The most important thing you can do to prepare is to be able to comfortably pass your PT. I also give some insight on my recent job interviews and hopefully give you some insight on the structured interview.

I took my POWER test this weekend. The local Jr. College tested 8 applicants at a time. 8 showed up for my slot, 6 males (myself included) and 2 females. 4 of the males couldn't even do the basic sit and reach/situps. One of them was a pretty chunky guy whom I took one look at and knew he wasn't going to make it to the run. The other 3 however, wouldn't *look* overweight per se. So 4 of us made it to the run; Myself (I'm 5'10 and extremely lean/athletics, weighed in at 168.8lbs), another male who was actually smaller than me, looked around 5'8 and maybe 160-170ish lbs, then both females. I passed my 1.5mi run in 9:42, I lapped the two women 3 times and the guy twice. The other male failed his run as well as one of the females. The lone other person (a female) who passed the entire process with me, finished her 1.5mi run with about 20 seconds to spare and she was GASSED afterwards. My advice to you is that anyone who wants a career in this field, you need to start working out NOW and also, make sure to keep up with cardio. I've been running 6-8 miles a day, 6 days a week since June. The POWER test is the bare minimum to get to the academy (at least here in the Midwest US where I live) and it's only going to get harder once you get in. Cardio is extremely important for many reasons, even including your physical and Polygraph, as it'll help you stay more calm/collected under stressful situations and most importantly, if you make the final list of candidates to be hired, do you think the department will hire some fat, out of shape slob for the position, or the person who is built like an NFL receiver? One of the local PD's I recently tested for told us that the #1 reason candidates are rejected from the department ISN'T for the polygraph or psych eval or even the background investigation, as we all would tend to think based on how many videos cover that subject on youtube. The chief told us that the single most common reason they reject candidates, and the most infuriating part of the hiring process is when the hire a new recruit and send them to academy, only for them to fail the power test on day 1 (which he told us is the first thing they do on the first day of academy). This also means do NOT stop working out suddenly because you got your POWER card and no longer feel the need to maintain your fitness. A family member of mine works for a sheriffs department in Florida, they said that the average new recruit costs the department around $100,000 by the time the kit them out with gear and a cruiser and have them sent to academy. It's a bad look if you are the reason your department loses $100k before youre even patrolling the streets.
I just took a written exam for a few local PDs after putting my dream to become an LEO off for almost a decade now. I am amazed how much the testing has changed since I last attended one. First off, they never made you get the POWER card beforehand, rather at the 8-10 places I applied at in my early 20s, you would take the POWER test and if you didn't pass, you would be sent home without taking the written exam. More importantly, the new written exams do feel more like a "meyers-briggs" eval than an actual test, which I like. I've taken the MB test probably a dozen times since I was in highschool now, always got the exact same result (I'm an ENFJ-A). I wonder if the police departments tend to look for a particular personality type for these positions? I feel like "ENFJ" would be the perfect candidate too, as it is commonly referred to as "the protagonist." Fingers crossed I can get one of these gigs!
The polygraph has shown to have a 50-53% false positive rate. That is anything but accurate. Polygraphs are straight garbage.
I had a friend who was deputy director of a major federal agency under President Reagan. He had reporting to him a liberal Democrtat bureaucrat who made it clear he did not share Reagan's vision for the agency. My friend finally got fed up with him, called him into his office one day and showed him his transfer to Guam. "All I have to do is sign this," he told him, "and you're on the next plane." The guy experienced a sudden attitude adjustment.
Wow! So much different than the movies!
The plan on 12:32 is very informative. I completed my degree and intend to be an Army Ranger. Perhaps step 3 is in my future… pray for me
This video was on my 21st birthday
It's the highest honor to serve your country.
I’m a Marine Veteran and have an Associates degree I’m really looking into applying for CBP Officer

It is tough to get in most don’t make it
people are like "thats scary why would they transport it that way" maybe linda its because we cant quite toss the material in a UPS box truck and track the package to is destination
💍⚓👽🛸🛸🪐🪐🪐
CBP is now 101 days they added the extra days just to focus on physical fitness, it is a lot of academic but this video shows a crumb of what you actually go through, everything shown in the BP video is what CBP does as well, CBP also does active shooter training and mobile field force training
You look homeless. A worn-out, mumbling-old man.
Unforgettable world class training (USSS-SOG) and methodologies (investigations and executive protection) across so many genres make this the most exciting job that I have ever held.
*TUTTO VERO*... BISOGNA CREDERCI'!
Mexico like Lebanon are a failled states. It was DEA fault to trust known corrupt Mexican Government. SIU is a joke. I bet now after Allende nobody trusts the DEA.
Great law enforcement journey. Congratulations and thanks for your service.
They're nothing here but guessing, innuendos, and speculation regarding the polygraph. As a general rule, it's inadmissible in criminal court. The guessing starts on the reason why. It's not for accuracy. It's because there's no certification to become a technician. Anyone can purchase the equipment and give tests. Our community college offers a 3-credit course in polygraph. The teenagers completing this course think they can give tests. Nothing could be more wrong. All law enforcement technicians attend a 12-week curriculum in polygraph at an army base in Alabama. You have to have a bachelor's degree to apply. When you complete this course, you are a poly tech. The FBI, CIA, Marshal's Service, US Secret Service, ATF, DEA, and other premier agencies use the poly to screen applicants. I see certain posters here think they know more than these premier agencies. That's why some applicants sit on the outside looking in.
0084 DOE drivers?
I have been looking into being a cbp officer I have no prior experience or military it just really seems like a great career and would be very exciting and a great way to serve. I was thinking of maybe starting out going into corrections or working security, but it does sound like from what I have read on here is that working for tsa may be the best way to go about getting the proper experience
I applied a month ago got accepted last week and starting my pre-hire stuff now I'm starting at gs7 with 8yrs of military experience 12 yrs ago
yell louder
the best way to past it is to get use to your heartbeat when you talk, for example if they ask you a question and you answer them with the truth and your heart beats heavy while answering, that is definitely a bad signs.
Trying to get cleared through the Dept of Education is grueling.
You don't need a 4 year degree for HSI or CBP. Especially if you have previous law enforcement experience. I have known numerous of CBP officers with no college degree get jobs with HSI, DEA and some other agencies.
You can just do like our local police department does. Find a casino sit outside of it. Wait for people to leave then rob them. I mean you civil asset forfeiture they make millions of dollars a year off of seizing money.
A Boatswains Mate is a Sailor in the same way an Infantryman is a Soldier. You wouldn't want to confuse a Chief (or even a 2nd Class ) Boatswains Mate with a Janitor. BM1 Williams was awarded every personal Award for Valor authorized by the U.S. Navy. From a N&MC Achievement Medal(w/V) to the MOH. All of em. To have retired as a First Class bosun is no small thing. It reflects poorly on the Navy promotion process. But look how they did Chief Gallagher. David Hackworth was forced out as a Colonel. The man had 2 DSCs and 10 Silver Stars. Retired O-6 Then we listen to the media fawning over a puffed up toy soldier like milley or some delusional nutcase who names himself "mad dog" and speaks of killing as sport. Thus it has always been.
2024 comment here: Did anyone notice that he died on the Navy's Birthday? 13 Oct 1999. This was the year I enlisted in the Navy also as a Deck Seaman. And yes, my first 18 months in the Navy was grueling...25 years later I am a proud Naval Officer. I plan to retire at 30 years as a LCDR. Thank you for this video and honoring an amazing Sailor BM1 Williams.
Hi sir I'm Luis and I just wanted to tell you that I've found loop holes in my paper work and I want to get it change. I want some sweet justice to get back into the military and put some Democracy in all of this work.
Hello Sir: Why didn't mention the .45ACP round via a 1911 gun for Law enforcement. In my experience the 1911 .45ACP is a great backup firearm and a show stopper.
My people
I could be worng but I was looking at there application and GL-5 is still there. It's just for people that don't have a degree or some kind of experience to make they available for the higher pay rate.
"Update" You can join as a GL-5,GL-7,or GL-9 depending on school and experience. I'm reading it off of the CBP website as I write this.
For some of these positions you can get in with 2 years military experience and some college.
Everyone from my unit is somewhere else or suicide. Not possible to prove my disability. Have a good day also
Since Covid the flying public has gone bat shit crazy! Best LEO job! Where else can you get paid BIG $$$ , lots of training DM, shooting, workout and travel! If you’re out of the military or a local LEO and you’re tired, put in! More them just flying, first few years, yes flying but it’s all new so great places! It’s a lot more than just sitting around, just like everything else it’s what you put in to it. The one negative thing I can say, TSA sucks! TSA is a regulatory agency not Law Enforcement agency. But recently Congress met and that’s in the works.
There’s a lot of misinformation in this video about the federal air marshal service even though it’s three years old. I served in the federal air marshall service and I retired from the federal air marshal service in 2019. if you have any questions DM me.
can you join as a 100 percent VA veteran?
You are probably the most insightful person in the space on the overall industry. Keep up the good work!
I hope you'll come back to youtube, and will cover the Bureau of Land Management Law Enforcement Rangers or US Park Police
After 14 1/2yrs, i can more than show i have changed as a person. I was young and needed help with a lot of things that i was dealing with. Tried to ask for help and got a field grade and chaptered right after i served my 45/45..... I would love nothing more than to show i have grown up from the little boy i was, to the man i am today. Id love to serve again, but, just to get my general under honorable conditions with a JKK code for reentry changed to an honorable would make my days a little easier knowing they have acknoledged my change
Thanks for helping my anxiety on the situation. I know I am a good person who's made some mistakes but nothing too crazy. My intentions were to suit up and show up and leave my ego at the door.
Why is bro in a hotel
I've been really getting into your channel, man. I'm thinking about a few federal forces before I get too old. 36 now but I'm still in Marine Corps shape. Thank for sharing your knowledge. I hope you're not dead my friend.
How dare you smokeing Marijuana at my face or few distance when I smell it if I felt being threaten it won't be a accident it's a person ware a medical id for a reason , when that reson is serious to ware by allergic or allergies or side effects it won't be My fault it's your fault remember that it's same has a frist swing you made .
I love this guy 😂 you should really do a, “what to expect video” the lifestyle isn’t for everyone. Which is why our divorce rate is so high
wiat you can become border patrol with no interiew?
It's a process, Apply, take the test, oral hiring board interview, polygraph test, medical (basically physical), PT test, background investigator interview, drug test.
Awesome video. Great explanation of exactly what I was looking for.
YES 100%!!!! Tyrants who are only good at intimidating innocent travellers (yes they are all innocent) they are still worried about outdated threats that never happened and wont happen. Just rent a cops on power trips. And their bosses are the biggest cowards ever
Odds of getting in with a Bachelor and associates in stem with 3.2 gpa and firearms and mma experience?
