No stranger to name drops/call backs
Ikr? It is pretty much my favourite because of that. like in an instant I liked the whole vibe and then also when I heard the ending. Thing is I listened to the album in its order so it was the last song and I instantly noticed that. now it's just my go-to.
All the other songs are GREAT, really. Don't get me wrong but this one is just my home run.

This is so poetic, no wonder the Album is called the Rise of the Monarch, the songs themselves are chronologically the story of why the Monarch became a villain.
From the Embers
Monarch who originally a servant of light fought a war for her lover all for a lie. As she died knowing she was taken for a fool her righteousness broke. And so died the servant of the light but the future villain rose up from the embers.
Metamorphosis
How can her lover sleep in peace when the man toyed with the servant of light. Nightmares, pain, trauma the servant of light endured everything for love. But knowing there was no going back after she rose, she transformed into the villain that will trample him when the time comes. Gone was the devoted lover of his now only the vengeance and a broken heart remains. From the moth that died to the fire to the blaze that will shallow you whole.
Call me king
It was not as rehearsed as the servant of light was the mans devoted knight. Together they aimed to change the kingdom. yet due to him abandoning his lover, she now returns to not crown him, but to take his place instead. More powerful that ever before, the Dark Monarch sat on the throne edging her old flame to take his shot. Both of them knowing full well nothing he could ever do would ever make a difference.
Wonderfully executed.
i earnestly want this story in Merryweather comics, it would be splendid. The Hero's journey is only outshown by the tale of a villain's start. Cause the best villains are the ones you can empathize/sympathize with.
So, TL;DR: Monarch went to the dark side because someone lied to her.
That guy pretty much deserves whatever consequences come his way.
there's a lot of Villainess Webtoons with a similar theme, though they don't actually become a villain, or are rewriting the history that made them so in the first place. One of my favorites is "I'm The Queen In This Life"

I almost want to be mad because these songs are absolute bangers and they're entirely fictional lore for a v-tuber. Like, why don't more singers and lyricists just go into fully fictional backstory mode for their songs?

I'd like to hear more backstory about the Monarch's past life as the hero the multiverse wanted, and also the guy who broke her heart and turned her into the villain the multiverse needed. The album is amazing, but it should be turned into an animated series.

someone get Merryweather to help!! Not too serious on it, but hes the first to mind whod keep true to the world n vision Amalee has. I love the hopeful hero turn karmic villain character arc in fiction, its always a satisfying view to see.
And follows an old adage, when you're a kid you idolize batman's justice, as an adult the joker starts making sense.

I love how intimidating Monarch can be, then you go to her streams and it’s just… hilarious. Cy’Yu tech-support, accidental silence- truly the duality of Monarch cannot be beaten.

Everything about Monarch and her lore ist so meticulously thought out, all the work put out so far is utterly gorgeous, from design and artworks to music, lyrics…all of it is of such a high quality and production value, it’s a joy to watch! And what adds on top to it all ist that it’s not only pretty to the eye and ear but that you as a person (and your voice acting) are so entertaining that it keeps me invested in the character herself. I think this is my favorite song on the album (the other contender is monster u made) I think it best encapsulates the fallen hero rising in triumph as a villain that the album is generally going for. I have an image in my head of Monarch gently raising the head of the hero, driven to his knees, to look at her during the "It's not how we rehearsed, but I wanna hear it from you first." lines.
