    Thank you so much for sharing this.
    That poor young mother. What a sad, strange story. May she rest in peace. 🙏

    One thing I’ve learned from this podcast over the years is that there is ALWAYS additional information out there that could turn any understanding of any event on its head. Great job as always.

    As a paramedic, I have had a long time interest in this event.
    Thanks for the deep dive

    It's crazy how fast a situation like this can spiral out of control. It goes from a patient in respiratory distress to a mass casualty incident over the course of a few minutes.

    I've always wondered about this case. Thanks for doing all the research, Jimmy! Great episode!

    This makes so much sense. Proud of you for working on a logical, if tragic, explanation.

    Thank you Jimmy and Dom for another very intriguing show! I wasn't sure if I'd be interested in the subject matter as it was completely unknown to me. However, JA'sMW is mandatory listening each Friday so I dove in and found myself riveted to the development of this mystery through all its twists and turns. You guys take the facts and weave a great story through all the points along the way - this is excellent story telling, let alone mystery solving. Well done!

    Jimmy and Dom play Holmes & Watson to transform an X-Files story into a Breaking Bad episode. Brilliant!

    I thought the video was about the typical everyday "toxic woman"😆 but we talked about this back in nursing school, love your videos!!

    This was always such an interesting story that fascinated me as a child. Probably watching this on forensic files is one of the reasons I became a pathologist. When it comes to the autopsy it would be extremely difficult to identify any compound without knowing what you’re testing for.

    Did you consider the defibrillator as the source of the energy to make DMSO2 to DMSO4. This explains how the reaction happened on the blood, and even on her chest which has the "oil" all over it. It explains the garlic smell coming out too.
    The meth theory does not explain the oil on the chest.

    Story was also "Ripped from the headlines" by Law & Order. 1994's "Second Opinion" followed the story except woman nurse fainted because she thought she smelled cyanide on a lady in the ER. Ended up being almond sell emanating from a woman who was sold laetrile treatments by a quack oncologist. Charged with murder, lots of outraged looks from Sam Waterston, etc...

    It is head-scratchingly bizarre when these medical mysteries involve an ordinary citizen has a connection to some oddly specific and/or hard-to-obtain chemical substance (as in the "Mad Gasser of Mattoon", the "Radioactive Boyscout" cases, and the radiation in the Dyatlov Pass Incident". The rabbit hole, seemingly shallow at first, just gets deeper and deeper...

    Great episode, one question, maybe I missed it but, if there were precursors to meth in the I.V bag, that doesn't explain the crystal formation in the blood sample?

    • @me2143658709
      @me2143658709 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I missed that as well, but I just got a reply saying it does explain the crystal formation :)

    How would the staff not notice the meth precursor when IV bags come packaged in sealed, sterile packaging?

    Did Jimmy Akin write the article for Wikipedia or did he just read portions of it verbatim?

      Or did someone else transcribe this episode and paste it there?

    Jackalopes may have been "real" after all, maybe. I've seen photos of rabbits/hares suffering from a lagomorph equivalent of the virii that cause warts in humans. In the rabbits, it can cause enormous, warty growths around the mouth and on the head that -- from a distance -- would look very much like antlers.

    Mr Jimmy do any of your videos cover this new burst of ufo reportings/sightings?

      Yes, there are several episodes on that if you check out the Mysterious World playlist on the channel. :-)

    I might have missed it, but does the meth precursor hypothesis explain why there were crystals in her blood?

    • @JimmyAkin
      @JimmyAkin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. It does explain the crystals in the blood. :-)

    Great episode! As a long time fan, I find the addition of a new cast member a bit difficult to grow accustomed to. I think Jimmy and Dom trading off was the perfect balance. Juggling three different narrators feels like a bit too much to me.
