The Samurai and the Demon(Oni) - Japanese Mythology - See U in History Art: Paulo Vaccaro #JapaneseMythology #Mythology #SeeUinHistory #History #MythologyExplained
This is a good story that demonstrates that the wealth and luck of a man is nothing without his character. The oni though described as a demon, was judge jury and executioner to the people. Might also add, a rather fair one. The samurai offered his horse (a precious commodity i assume) and the oni repayed him by not only letting him live but also giving him gold. I suspect the oni was curious to see what would happen. In the oni's mind, he just saw a man give up something rather precious to live. But would he be able to give up his virtues to live a hedonistic life, just like he gave up his horse?
And the moral of the story, be kind to people, do good in your life and if you have a giant pile of money, invest it in something and DON'T WASTE IT. That I even have to tell you...
I can't help but feel bad for the former samurai. I mean, he was spared from death by the demon king and was even rewarded for being courteous, all for him to end up squandering his new found wealth frivolously, and breaking his promise to the demon king, and ended up suffering a fate worse than death. Now all I can do is ponder on what the former samurai could've done if things were different.
The problem is... if you don't have business owners around and your family didn't teach you to think rationally and programatic about your future, it's very hard to suddenly become antreprenorial as you receive some big sum of money...maybe some have good intuition though... the demon also can have a course or tutoring with the unprepared people, if he expects them to be innovating and make profit , Could be nice
If the man knew he was forced to work for the rest of his life and imprisoned by the demon then nobody actually knew what had happened him then where does the story got passed onto.. Is it a madeup story😂
Samurai: offers the horse to the oni
Horse: my disappointment is immeasurable...and my day is ruined
Japanese mythology is honestly some of the best and my personal favorites
I love to
@Giovanni Balbosa-Mc Intosh it is just a mythology (it is not their beliefs)
@@EL1King don’t bother with them, they’re just some ignorant fool
@Giovanni Balbosa-Mc Intosh stay mad 😂
@Giovanni Balbosa-Mc Intosh cry some more for me 😭 😭😂🤣
Let this be a lesson to Mankind. Count your blessings and always always be great-full for what you have. Never Take life for granted.
Yeah
Anyone else think that the demon at the ending was the horse he sacrificed to the demon?
i think the oni would've probabely ate the horse, but maybe he is

I kind of felt giving him that gold was some sort of test of his virtue.
@@ladynikkie Greed, Pride and other such earthy desires are the very test against man.
At first I thought he was gonna fight the oni lol it would be cool if he did but because of magic it's unnecessary
Moral of the story, never squander an opportunity and break promises.
What promises did he break?
@@truthspreader1996well he promised that he would not tell of the gateway to the world of oni even though those men didn’t believe him some would’ve

honestly i feel bad for the horse. but this story was very interesting
Somewhere in this narrative is a shinigami with a pen and notebook. He could have killed everyone...but he was too busy laughing. Hyuk, hyuk, hyuk.
Which song is it? It's so good
👍nicely done

Poor horse...
Yeah but To be fair the horse probably got the best ending in this story compared to the former Samurai at least
(Cries in Sekiro PTSD)
Anyone else read the title in Gyozen's voice?
What do demons need with rice?
After playing oni in dead by daylight I’m so interested in their stories
It was the curse of the Horse. He cursed his master, and the Oni knew it
This is why you must always remember why you got as far as you did in life
💯
So the man had to spend the rest of his after life working in the one rice felid because he never use his luck for good?
Well for me it’s he took the mercy he was given for granted
Aku: FOOLISH Samurai warrior
Morel of the story, greed and selfish desires can lead to your downfall.
Nah man, just don't break promises. Do evil all you want as long as you don't break that pinky promise.
