If you read reviews about the album you’d think it’s the worst ever but if you actually sit down and listen to it you’ll come to realize how amazing it just is... and it just gets better with every other listen. I find that “When You See Yourself” has flavors of every KOL albums in it. If I had to describe it in one word: Beautiful
I had the weirdest experience with this album. Listened to it 2 times and was like this is terrible !!!!! Worst album ever !!!
Then all of sudden boooooom it all made sense. I genuine think this is the best album that they could have made at there time in there life. ... like they can’t make albums like

Right?! I couldn't agree more. First listen I was surprised. It didn't sound like I was expecting. Second listen I liked it more. Third listen was late in the evening, headphones on, and I was blown away at how brilliant the songs are. Every lyric, every musical note, every second of Caleb's voice. The more I listen the more I appreciate it. It's a masterpiece. My favourite KOL album.
@@sonjan7093 That’s how the album hit me too, late at night working and just playing in the background and constantly grabbing my attention either with lyrics, melody or both.
Jared is a damn wizard on that bass. Almost every KOL song is guaranteed to have a sick bass line. One of the main reasons I'm a devotee of this band. 'THE' band with the finest bass-lines besides Pixies, Joy Division and early-Interpol. Matthew is also at the top of his game.

What I like about bands like KOL is that they do what the fuck they want. They are who they are... THAT IS THEIR SOUND. I’m just happy that they put out new music for us to listen to.

This is even better than I could have ever imagined. That baseline is killer. It kinda reminds me of their old stuff, just more polished. The drums are great as well. I have a feeling this will rank as one off their best albums.

THIS SONG IS A JAM!!!!!! Please don't talk about "their old stuff", if they were trying to emulate their old stuff they'd be seen as stuck in the past. Instead they've aged beautifully into a new sound! Love it!
Absolutely! I don’t understand what’s the deal with listening to a band doing the same music for 20 years. To me KoL are so different but they stay themselves and every song is a delight.
It’s always either “it’s the same thing every album” or “i wish it sounded like their old stuff”. You can’t win with those people.
True artists evolve ,take risks, and don't people please their art. Matthew, Jared, Nate, and Caleb gorgeously blend. Caleb has an iconic voice.

One day in February I went for a walk with my wife and daughter, we listened to this song and it made me feel like I didn't need anything else in this world, just having the two of them. The song became something special for the three of them, I love them!

Caleb may be their "frontman" as lead singer, but in my opinion, all the members make their own signature marks upon every composition and performance.
I honestly think this is my favourite video they’ve ever done.. I love the wintery calming vibe it has mixed with unreal camera work. This song is truly beautiful to listen to and just reminds me why I love this band so much

I admire this band because they surely sound very different than how they sounded in Youth and young manhood, however, they have kept an intrinsic essence in their music after all these years. And that, my friends, is something very difficult to accomplish in music industry.
it's like theres a clear narrative within the evolution of their music, from album to album. Like you say it's a fucking joke how they've pulled that off. One could argue that the strokes achieved that same status. ps im high af rn

The real KOL feel i grew up listening to..the bassline,the drums,the guitar and the sexy voice..what more do you need..
They never get the credit they deserve. Critics said it was a bad album... but how can u listen to this from top to bottom and think that? Same thing was said Come Around Sundown, but tbh that album is full of summer tunes. People just gotta appreciate these guys greatness never fail to have an album I truly haven’t enjoyed. These guys transition from albums have been legendary.

To me, there's no doubt, this is their best album ever. Not even 1 bad song.
There are very few studio albums you can say that about. Even the best bands in R&R history, their studio albums nearly all have 1 or 2 throw away songs, "B" sides that shoulda been "C" sides.
Not this one. Just let it play.
This album might not be the “BEST” according to critics but certainly, this is the BEST album released in a long long while. Such a different vibe yet KoL sticking with their Typical sound!

I was at that show! I can’t tell you how many times I teared up. I was lucky enough to bring my dad along with me and the whole drive up I had him listening to KOL songs. I’m glad it was the last show I got to see before Covid

Back in my freshmen days in high school (2008-2009) i had a teacher, she was math teacher and her name Dietrich (I think that how it’s spelt) she said she was related to one of the members of KOl. I don’t know if any of them members will ever see this but when she mentioned it I was like “holy shit I love those dudes I’ve got their music and I play it on guitar and drums”. Didn’t say it out loud because I was shy back then. I think it’s so awesome you guys are still making music. I’ve never heard a song I didn’t like. I hope you continue to make music together for decades to come, your music has gotten me through hard times and I love your sound!

I love this song and video. KOL are one of the greatest bands of all time. I feel lucky to be a fan of Rock royalty! I'm never disappointed with anything they've ever done. I am amazed every album how they evolve and Not ONE songs of theirs sounds the same. It's always a musical adventure with them. They literally can be put in almost any kind of genre of music. Rock, punk, techno, country, southern rock, country and western, cinematic, funk, Christian rock, gospel and probably a few more. You want it they got it!
