Great insights Abbey! It’s refreshing and purifying to remind ourselves of not only God’s desire to come to Him with all things but also His worthiness of our surrender. Praying for your family and for you with this new season in you and your husband’s life! 🙏🏼
Hey Mrs.Wilson aka my favorite teacher! I just wanna say no matter what you are going thru or struggling with that you are just the most strongest teacher I have ever met. I know you can work through it! You and bby girl! Love you and can’t wait to see you when you come back! -your favorite student, Madyson
Hi Abbey! You surprise me and I don’t know why. This is such a great piece of honesty. And you have ministered to me through this. It went well with what God gave me today, Your name means “gift of God”‘and “source of joy.” And you are.
Hi Abbey! Thank you for being so open about your struggles and processing some realities that ALL of us face. Some days are really hard for me to want to open my Bible or spend time with God, and it’s easy to begin striving to feel “the right way” with Him. Your video spoke into a struggle I’m walking through and attempting to process as well.
Found you because I’m transitioning from elementary to middle school and I found your middle school videos. Then On my feed I saw this video! Love that you are sharing!! It sounds like it can be a wilderness season. The book by John Bevere, “God, Where Are You?” was a huge help for me.
Pastor JP also discussed “quiet time” on his podcast, becoming something. i think it might be helpful to give it a listen. it’s episode 4 so it was a few years ago, but i believe it’s still relevant to this conversation.
Hi! New teacher here, I found your videos when preparing for the career change. Love your content and I wish you the best in all your endeavors! I get what you’re saying, sounds like you unintentionally were using “quiet time” as a scapegoat for whenever you weren’t acting your best and most pleasant self, which is easy to do so don’t even feel like you’re vilifying the idea of quiet time. I think if you shifted your thinking of quiet time and didn’t worry about the westernization or romanization of it (pretty much the world view of it bc we should strive to remain in the spirit and not the world) it would definitely help you reconnect with the importance of it. Don’t think of it as quiet time or any time that has a title or obligation lol, it’s just time for you to hang out with our Father God! I call them hang outs lol never even heard of it as quiet time in this way. You absolutely can just live your life but in the Bible it does specify ways you’re supposed to be living and it does mention that prayer and worship are necessary. Try shifting the view of “quiet time” being a chore or thing on a checklist and more so just a time to hang out with God, uninterrupted. You don’t even have to do a set of specific things or the same things every time. Just talk to him and praise him. It’s one thing to think about and talk to him throughout your day while living and doing daily things, but having the desire to have your own time with him to know him, learn him, and worship/praise him is so beneficial and intimate! I be crying like a baby sometimes bc I just get overwhelmed with the emotions of knowing and spending time with the most high. It’s a beautiful thing. But also, I understand what you mean. No one wants to do anything that they feel they’re being forced or forcing themselves to do. I hope you’re able to reconnect with him because he is holy and sooooo good in every way. And reading scripture is definitely an amazing way to reconnect. You learn something new each time you read it even if you’ve read it 20 times before lol. You can have “quiet time” in the shower or on the toilet girl 😂 and it’ll be far more beneficial and meaningful than just having passing thoughts about him daily. Those are important too though! Anyway, if you’ve read all of that love you and hope you’re doing well in every aspect of life ❤ God loves you and got you too!!
The thing tho, do you believe in The One absolute Creator? Cuz, believing in The One absolute Creator is different than believing in three in one god. Becareful of which deity you re actually addressing. Like, somebody could actually have been submitting tho their own desires than submitting to The Creator. For example, if you want to give a gift to your beloved ones. Are you gonna give the gift you love or the gift they love? Likewise, if you want to have good relationship with The Creator. Are you gonna do things that you think is good, or the things like what to do and dont that actually The Creator wants?

I feel like this a lot. How do you begin to change that mindset to not think of it as a check list but to genuinely want to do it?
The thing tho, do you believe in The One absolute Creator?

Hello Abbey, try going to a Catholic mass around you.
