I love how even though Duncan is his own boss now, he still presents all of his videos in a very professional yet informal way at the same time, it's a pleasure to watch.
Here is Duncan talking about A Song of Ice and Fire : Tabletop Miniatures Game! onthetablegaming.blubrry.net/2020/01/25/on-the-table-gaming-episode-63-duncan-two-thin-coats-rhodes-and-a-song-of-ice-and-fire-the-miniatures-game/
So hyped that you're painting the lovely miniatures from this game. Please, please, PLEASE! Paint some of the Bolton miniatures, Ramsey, Roose or any of their battleline units. Would really love to see your take on their dark armor/pink cloaks. Cheers Duncan. - Semp
Duncan you are not just showing how to paint miniatures but also what kind of miniatures are out there... who would've thought theres a Son of Ice and Fire miniature game. Awesome
Top notch stuff - thanks for all your videos over the years you have helped teach this newbie so much and i have seen incredible results I never dreamed I could achieve because of your videos.
I think you’re missing a trick, Duncan. I love the work you do and have watched your WH videos for a few years now (much better than Peachy😂). I was really excited to hear you had your own channel and I have watched and liked these too. Thing is, I would love to watch you paint and hear you talk WITHOUT the editing..Not only would it be like a modern day Bob Ross but it would also show us amateur painters how you keep the colour on the brush throughout using it, how you get the great detail, the tidying up you speak of amongst other things..Thanks again for the vids and stay safe!😘👌
@ Steve Ballinger Poor old Peachy! Yes Duncan's painting vids are the shizz, but Peachy just doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Worship at the altar of Dunc (while wearing your two thin coats) but remember Peachy is a doing a fine job all on his own! ;-) Remember, if these guys weren't doing their thing, the best tutorials you might have to watch on YT could be me, slapping paint on like a noob from 1984 and not realising there is such a thing as subtlety!
He should simply stream on twitch/youtube and record his streams, so we can watch them later too. And Twitch can be a pretty decent source of extra income, from what I've seen.
First comment! Duncan you are hugely skilled but able to explain things in such an accessible way. Me and my boys watch your stuff all the time. My 11 year old knows how to do a toxic swamp base for his Nurgle figures because of one of your old tutorials. Thank you
Great to see you can now apply your formula to basically any miniature and model out there, it's unbeatable really, will certainly consider subbing to your site
I have been watching your old warhammer channel vids glad I found your channel. I ordered my first models Tempest of Souls set cant wait to start painting.
I'm glad that Duncan still uses Citadel for most of his stuff. If you play multiple games, its always easier to sub in leadbelcher for gun metal, then follow the rest of the tutorial to the letter
wow none citadel paints and miniatures, and even youtube comments, its good to see you are enjoying your freedom. And its also good to see you still are the Bob Ross of miniature painting ;) I hope you enjoy making the videos as much as i enjoy watching them. And now i can write comments; i just wanted to say: Thank you, both for helping me be a better painter and for keeping me entertained while painting, you are a virtue good hobby body :)
I’d love to see you do some kind of Q&A / fireside chat type thing. You do amazing tutorials but I’d love to know you and your mate’s thoughts on various aspects of the hobby.
I enjoy it, to watching when u painting your models- The Lannister Guardsmen looks amazing =) I am a painting beginner and for me it's hard to paint belts because I paint over other areas. Same is edge highlighting but I hope your painting tutorials can help me a little bit.
I would just say thank you Duncan for this great painting tutorial. Lannister are my favorites but I was a little stress to paint them. Now I think I can start them. 😆 Be safe and in good health. A French fan 😊
Another great tutorial. I am going to use this time to finally get started on my mortal realms minis. I wonder if there’s a chance of a Anvils of Heldenhammer tutorial possibly using black templer contrast. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
Hey Duncan, for a 100k subscriber special, you should totally do a battle report. I’m sure we’d all love to see you actually playing one of the games you paint so well
Very impressive. I opted to give my Lannisters a bright red plume to go with their shields, though using Zandri Dust and Ushabti to create a faux-yellow/gold effect was intriguing. I might use that effect for my Baratheons. Also dang, Army Painter makes some very impressive metallic paints.
Hey Dunc, I know the cut transition has been a mainstay since your GW days, but could you share your take on putting some fastforward footage instead, so viewers know everywhere the paint should go?
For my Clegane's Mountain Men, I started with a base of XV-88 and built up a mixture of XV and Zamesi Desert. It's not garish yellow and looks nicely muted. See what you think: imgur.com/PhF4ciE You can always build up more yellow as you please.
Started collecting Lannisters and this helps considerably ^^ Would you do others from the Lannister line like NCU's? Tywin Lannister would be a fun one to watch pain ^^
OK The ending statement made this video!! Hahahahaha All Hail King Joffrey! Cannot wait to see more vids from ASOIAF miniatures with Army Painter/Vallejo/Scale75 paints! #TwoThinCoats
Thinking of trying this one today. Although it's probably not a good idea to only do one instead of a whole batch, and risk using different shades of red in the future
I guess old habits stick to you for a long time. The same goes with tools like brushes. There are superior ones, but Duncan prefers Citadel/AP. It's okay, if you're happy with final result.
I don't even play this game, but watched Duncan painting. But please start using a wet palette, this will help new painters tremendously. You don't work for a paint selling company anymore ;)
Hey, Duncan. Was this filmed before you discovered the joys of the wet palette? Also, I love you mix product lines. It's really how we non-alined people use them. And I think it would really help to see at what moment you change the water of your rinsing pot. It's all these little details that makes a new painter more organized, I think.
Great video Duncan. I know a number of people have said don’t do the fast forward thing but it makes for far more entertaining video. I would like it however if you finished with “ this miniature took approximately XX minutes”
I love how even though Duncan is his own boss now, he still presents all of his videos in a very professional yet informal way at the same time, it's a pleasure to watch.
Yeah kind of sticking to his thing in doing so
A British gentleman.
You know Duncan, I'd love to hear you talk more about games you like, maybe even talk about tactics and such
Yeah, I'd watch videos of Duncan just talking about miniatures he likes.

Duncan of house Rhodes. Sigil, brush and palette. Words, Two thin coats.

Love the different makes of mini’s you’re painting.
I’ve been trying to do layering for the first time lately (specifically skin) and I’m always amazed how Duncan makes it look so easy
Duncan you are not just showing how to paint miniatures but also what kind of miniatures are out there... who would've thought theres a Son of Ice and Fire miniature game. Awesome
I love how you do your tutorials! They make it seem like anyone can paint beautiful models!
Duncan is like, the perfect ambassador for the craft part of the hobby. Very encouraging.
Glad to see videos in such trying times. Stay safe Duncan!
Always exiting when a new video comes out!
Finally the weekend and bam, new video by Duncan. Even in these crazy times a new Duncan video brings a smile to my face! Thank you & stay safe!
Super clean and easy to follow. Excellent work, as always.
That red is absolutely lovely!
I appreciate the brush graphic that pops up similar to the paint graphic.
I don’t always feel like painting, when this occurs I just watch Duncan, just as much fun.

@Bob McGregson Obsessively find flaws in earlier painting, just like real life.
\
I put this on to have in the background while I painted, and Duncan's mesmerizing voice made me completely forget about the mini I was holding
When you returned to normal the two thin coats were perfectly applied
That's a great looking model.
Hope you're able to produce high quality content like this more often.

Duncan's voice is so soothing and fluid. I'd love to see him paint some NMM.
Great Tutorial! I hope we can see more tutorials of this amazing game (and more Lannister army, my play choice XD)

I love the Lannister paint scheme
Lannister always paint this scheme.
Really appreciate your videos and techniques. I also like that you are free to use paints and tools from different brand ranges. Liked!

LOL, I think this time at least it would be safer to apply one thick layer.
@@balkenkreuz2063 Heresy!!

Duncan. I now see why you've parted ways with GW. And I couldn't be happier! Great video, sir. Keep it up.
It looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing this.
woah wait! i am late to the party!
glad our lord and saviour of multiple thin layers is back!

Great job. I hope to see more videos
Now you made me want to paint and play A Song of Fire and Ice. Amazing job, love that red, and gold.

the fact duncan looks like a typical lannister soldier makes this tutorial even better :D

@@DuncanRhodesDRPA have u painted the red cloaks? awesome sculps :)
Very easy way to paint. All you need is all the colors the eye can define and you are good to go.
Awesome "how to". Great job Duncan
Just got my Stark vs Lannister starter set last week. This was helpful
Hell yeah, I've been looking to get into this game for a while. Maybe this would be a good time, lol.

I don't have any song of ice n fire stuff but I tried this guide on my empire troops for AOS and it looked really cool, very similar miniatures
Great video thanks!
would like to see this site explore more advanced techniques!
We are definitely going to add stuff like that in the near future.
@Duncan
Please paint more minis from board games, not just miniature games. Thank you! Keep up the good work, man!
Brilliant Totally Brilliant
you are the best by far!!! I will look forward to the starks tutorial, it is very very difficult to hit the Citadel colors... :(
Thank you Duncan! The Chanel is quite polished! They won’t be singing “The Rains of Castamere.” around House Rhodes!
Thinking of trying this one today.
Although it's probably not a good idea to only do one instead of a whole batch, and risk using different shades of red in the future
Thanks Duncan, makes a change from Space Wolves/Dark Angels and Raven Guard, plus it is an incentive to paint older models.
Youre a god Duncan.
There should be a Duncan miniature! And we should paint it in many thin coats!
Duncan! You're not with citadel anymore, it's ok to use a wet pallet.
