The elder artist earned the right to talk and express den opinion..they paved the way for the young artist and made dancehall global....with the exception of popcaan which young artist now can pull 25000 fans to any show anywhere ..

In the early 2000s there was a more authentic dancehall vibes. Now the genre has evolved into a sub hip hop type genre and in America they don’t care for it. They are still singing the older dancehall songs.

The younger artistes in Jamaica have no clue of the treasure trove of material their elder have created and left for them to use. They refuse to learn and appreciate their culture and that's why most if them believe dancehall started with Bounty and Beenie. There are at least 3 or 4 generations of artistes before. While you're bashing your elders, young people your ages in Japan, Europe, North America and Africa are using the beats created by your elders and making millions...even getting Grammy nominations

Afro beat is a fairly new beat in africa the difference is that africa embraces changes and try to capitalize on it . Afro beat is mixed with afo and and american style but mostly african style is dominant which is how they speak and dance however what I am trying to say is that our music beats are sounding too much like a international beat what we should do is try hard to make our reggae sound be dominant and iliminate the copying of others work but the thing is everybody want to becioome a producer and they dont really know the culture so they make music base on what is poping .Music is essential to our culture bob marley paved away for you guys and many other artiste especially the long time producers is just the younger generation sould try to keep the legacy .Look a davido he sings on a a afro beat rythm however all his hit songs are not about guns its about love and falling in love .this goes to say he artiste now need to look on their content the rythm they choose to sing on. Producers a who build artiste and artiste build back producers so they all need to work together to create authentic jamaica sounds which can be and will be recognized internationally and wont know unless they try it .

I'm from Kenya, East Africa. We still liste to a lot of the old 90s & 2000s dancehall though - Vybz Kartel, Busy SIgnal, Popcaan, Shaggy, Sean Paul... I see a few local concerts here headlined by Konshens, Chris Martin...but dancehall music is really fading out...

They complain all the time bout the yutes, but they’re not taking them under their wing. & when it was their time they didn’t build the business side of Dancehall and let outsiders use us and give us crumbs. Pick us up and dash us away when they feel like it.
