Hey G, thank you very much for watching and leaving a comment. I fully agree with you - and it's such an amazing county with incredible people (mostly), beautiful scenery, and great food. I hope you get the chance to visit again!
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed this, and so great to hear you'll be returning for a visit. I know you're going to have an awesome time eating all the wonderful food!
I just happened to stumble across these old videos and I must say that I love these far more than the new one's! Something very Real and Down to Earth about them. Your reaction to the food comes with a little comedy side as well instead of the usual reaction with the eye roll that gets old.
Hey there, thanks for watching! I'm not really sure if that's possible, you'd have to do a bit more border and road research, but that's a great idea, would be a lot of fun!
Yes, I still have lots more Burmese food to try! I hope to make another trip in the future and be able to eat more of the delicious food. Thank you very much for watching this video!
Hi Mark! It’s 2021 and I still enjoy watching your old blogs. Thanks for visiting Burma for foods! I’m from Burma, so it means so much to me. It’s also definitely nice to see how much you have improved over the years on filming! You’re AWESOME! Can’t stop watching your videos. (PS: I know wanna go to Thailand just for the food! Thanks to you 😅)
The one thing that always strikes me about Mark is his down to earth attitude...be it any setting, a street food stall, humble abode of someone's home or an upscale fine dining luxury restaurant...he is at ease, always willing to learn new things & respect the locals, their culture...this quality is probably whats makes him so popular & likeable...also a tad different from other food vloggers...so refreshing for those of us familiar with his work since last 4-5 years to check out this older video with his hippyish look & quieter mannerisms...👍
@TheCrazydionne Hey, thanks a lot for checking it out. No, just made this video all by myself after spending a few weeks in Yangon. On the street I just asked a seller for Burmese music - and this is what he gave me. I then just picked a song that fit! Thanks again!
Thank you very much for your kind comment. I had an incredible time in your country and really enjoyed just hanging out and sampling all the wonderful food. Thank you for being so welcoming!
Hey Terry, good to hear you have an interest in visiting as well. It's a beautiful country. I didn't have a problem with eating raw vegetables, but I only really drank bottled water. I would recommend drinking bottled water.
@TigressforHukawng Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed the video. Not sure what the songs are though... I think someone else will know. Thanks again!
I miss Burma. now living in Perth Western Australia. I try to cook as much Burmese food as I can for my Aussie friends. Thank you Mark for wonderful mouth watering foods.
@xelfeyesx Thanks for watching! Actually I had read about mohinga before visiting, and I know a bit about Indian food (dosa and thali), but other than that I just explored!
Mark ... Was so different back then.. developed that signature wow... gesture, after any meal, over the period of years... So these were the earliest videos where it all started.. well done buddy.. we are with you.
You really helped me to open up my eyes to travel through Asia, I am in Singapore right now and will visit KL for two days. I am travelling with my parents so I cannot move about as I want but still glad to be here.
Man, I love your videos. first video I watched is the one when you were in Kenya, since then I learned to stay in cheap areas and eat good food for very low price. Thank you very much Sir.
I am new to your channel and that is because I'm visiting Yangon soon.. then i found myself watching your other videos. You are living a great life, the life that i want to live. Great job!
Haha, yes. But garlic is worth every bite! No problem, I really enjoyed my time in Myanmar and especially the great food! Thank you very much for watching.
Hey, thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it. No, no health checkup, but I'm still alive now! The food was excellent, and I did mostly eat hot fresh food as well as food in the morning market. I drank mostly bottled water and tea. How long have you lived in the US? Will you go back to visit?
@minthagyi No, no problem with my stomach, I do a lot of travel, and I grew up in Africa, so my stomach is used to all kinds of different foods. I don't have too much more video, but I will be releasing all kinds of pictures and stories from Burma on my website travel blog at migrationology(dot)com Thank so much!
@hillymilly15 Thanks a lot for watching! Yah, I eat a lot of street food, and I grew up mostly in Africa, so my stomach is more used to spicy and street food style meals!
@vijaymalhotra94 Yes, I stayed in a budget place called the Golden Smile Inn - great place and safe. When I was there I felt very safe, and zero risk. Everyone I met was hospitable and grateful to have visitors. Hope you get a chance to visit, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Thanks for watching and I'll let you know if I make it to India soon!
@banfielddavid Hi David, Thanks so much for watching the video! That's awesome that you are taking a trip to Myanmar soon, I really enjoyed my time. Wow - 2 years, that's going to be an incredible experience. The big fish I ate was on one of the main streets in Chinatown, not sure exactly what street, but you'll see the fish from the main road. From that street you walk about 50 meters down the road to the restaurant I ate at. Awesome fish!
migration mark street food days before he moved indoors to sit down restaurants, always a good description but i think he explained the food in more detail in the early days, maybe not, he has always been entertaining, thanks.
Hello Adman, thank you very much, I would love to visit again. Yes, I haven't tried nearly everything, and I would love to come back to eat more. Thank you for your kind welcome!
There is a large number of refugees from Burma here in Phoenix. I volunteer my time helping the Karen in acclimating to our culture. Great people, great food.
@garretsanchez Thanks for sharing... The street food in Burma is such a great way to meet locals and taste of the best food. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
I really enjoy these early vlogs. It’s nice to know you haven’t always been so polished in languages and presentation. I miss seeing Ying and Micah, though.
Cool to hear you'll be visiting Burma soon! You're going to have a great time. To tell you the truth, I have no clue about the tofu... but it is really good! Thanks for watching and have a great time!
