@@Brigand231 i think what the op was trying to say is, that he's not surprised that this never caught on in the time it was released, and therefore isn't that popular now (i'm talking about pete drakes music, not talkbox in general). Most of the stuff you mentioned does not have that eerie or "creepy" vibe to it, especially not for the time it was released
@@Brigand231 they don't really talk into it though. They play guitar and shape the notes, but they don't sing words through it and that's what never caught on. Some groups have done the word thing, but for Pete Drake he's the only one to be a frontman talkbox singer guy

Futuristic for it's time for sure, I am so impressed that they could do this back them before computers and modern electronics. Like, jesus, this was 50+ years ago
