Thank HEAVENS he didn't let Lynch go through with the helium idea. Can you imagine how hilarious that would be?? Widdle baby Fwankie! I'm sorry, that's not chilling, it's just silly.
Anyway, _Blue Velvet_ is one of my favorite films. I'm so glad it turned out the way it did.

the helium idea would have been amazing, him pretending to be a baby already had a lot of humor in it, the helium would have made it even funnier and probably even more twisted and disturbing

@@jpeg204 I kindly disagree. There's no way in a million years that I could take that seriously. Just thinking about it cracks me up. The film is already so off-kilter, I'm sure that would plunge it off the edge completely.

@@MadamFoogie someone did a video edit where he has the high pitched helium voice and it’s extremely chilling… only for the sex scene though, it wouldn’t make sense in any other parts of the movie.

Also just rewatched the movie blue velvet from like 20 years ago. I always thought his character was a corrupt DEA agent. But then I remember that's the movie the professional. I think Frank Booth would have been scarier if he had some kind of legal authority than just being a deranged crime lord. Kudos to Gary Oldman in the professional and Hopper who were both in True Romance.

After seeing him in this, he played a great role in it. He was an overall good man that was a former basketball player and a father of one of the sons of the team, but a chronic alcoholic that couldn’t handle being an assistant coach.

I like the fact that Dennis talked him into making it nitrous oxide over helium. It made his derangement that much more believable. So I think Dennis was correct here Lynch was kind of naive.

Dennis Hopper was an integral part of the early LA Modern art scene starting in the late 50s. A serious artist that got acting gigs on the side. He was a painter and collage artist and then his studio burned down and he lost everything. From then on, he turned to photography. If you read Easy Riders and Raging Bulls you'll find he was not a nice romantic partner, using his girlfriends as punching bags. Curious if he ever came clean on that. Brilliant actor, though.

Really none of anyone's business how he treated his girlfriends .I don't like people like you that get on here get their kicks by saying this performer was an asshole you know what everyone has asshole tendencies depends on who looks for your inner mean those people are just as bad .
