    I’m glad to see you’re including you son in your videos and he’s doing the work. Parenting done right. Well done you two. He is a wise guy. I wonder where he gets it from. Keep up the great work guys. 👍

    Been there, done that. Mine didn't have any stored codes. Oil had leaked through the body of the VVT actuator and filled the weather pak connector. Since it was at 285k miles, I replaced it. No change in operation was noticed however.

    I just changed my evap purge valve po440 I went through the top let me tell ya the clips that hold it on we’re the hardest part they used 2 different lock setup at least on the 02 they did
    They all seem to have the same issues ….However 263,000 can’t complain to…
    Next job is the driver side axle or diff seal luckily it looks like the outside one ..I seen the one where you did the inner man that was pretty slick !
    The rear axle is making noise on mine sounds like a bearings but in ways it sounds like gears when you let off the gas a little it’s not as bad now that I sit here typing this maybe I should check the pinion nut probably ready to fall lol ….
    Keep them vids coming brother !

    I just installed this part for the 2nd time, in my wifes 2006 Trailblazer. Buy the AC Delco part, don't buy cheaper brand. They've updated the design on AC Delco.

      Why did u have to change this part

  • @reallyretro

    I had to do this in mine last year. I had to loosen the power steering pump pulley and belt to get the old one off. Kind of a pain but worth it. These things crap out over time.

    This is a great video. I tried it and the installation went as planned. But I noticed today that some oil is leaking out from the black tip of VVT. Any thoughts on what may cause it?

    Was changing out plugs and coils and noticed oil leaking from vvt. The problem was plugs and two coils but replacing vvt didn't make an apparent difference yet oil leaking from the end didn't seem normal 😅

    Dan, do you think that it is worth keeping and fixing an older trailblazer even after it dies ?

    • @TheDaninator
      @TheDaninator  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose replacing an engine is cheaper than buying a new car. Its all according to what you’re willing to work on and condition of the vehicle. Is it worth the time and money to you? I’ve kept two dead failblazers as parts trucks, and aside from taking up space in my driveway, it has been beneficial for me just in parts I’ve pulled to keep my good Failblazer on the road. 👍

    The VVT only applies to the Exhaust valves. VVT solenoid does not adjust Intake valves.

    A engine flush typically clears the code before a oil change.
