Great point of view! "Shopping for Shangri-la" can seem to logically fit better within the context of these song lyrics. I too heard almost it as 'Shangri-la' as the beginning of what he sang does sound like 'Shangri' and not "Shame with..." but the end of it does sound like "ow" (out) not "ah" (La). On another point as the written lyrics may have truly implied, many of those looking or '"shopping" for "The Holy Grail", used drugs "nectar of the gods" as well to supplement their search for it, and while it could have been 'shameful' to some to use those drugs, they could have been doing it 'shamelessly' aka "Shame without" in their altruistic approach. I checked John Fogerty's - The Holy Grail (Official Audio), listened to it, and there too it sounds the same and he definitely shows the lyrics as "Shopping for shame without"
