Awesome video Brett! Out of curiosity, what exactly is going on at 0:13 when you press that button. Then what are you doing at 0:23 when you twist that lever counter-clockwise? I'm more of a sound enthusiast, so I'm curious about the mechanics going on with the engine and rotor. Thanks!
Hey Beau, that's the start procedure for the Jetranger, pressing the start button activates the igniter and you hear that distinctive "tick tick tick tick" then at 15% on the N1 turbine then I roll the throttle on with my left hand into the detent which introduces the fuel into the turbine, igniting the fuel thus producing power. It's an awesome sound and you never get bored of it!
Love the starter sound but it gets great when you introduce fuel and the wooooooooommmmmmmm. Sound happens. Then when the transmission starts coming up to match the gas generator love those sounds
Excellent sound for me to explain to my wife the startup sounds of a turbine. No better way to start the day than the igniters clicking, and introducing fuel!
My favorite chopper of all time. Small, fast and classic design. I had a dream last night I was flying one and I could feel the collective and stick in my hands! Crazy but true!

I used to see this procedure as a ground crew employee in Sedona, from the front of the helicopter. Now I know how it is inside.
