I've watched this video about 30 times now and being here in Wisconsin, what I watch is a dream! Mr. Russ has a real paradise of of a lake, and to invite avid fishermen come and benefit to his hard work is a testimony to his heart. He was having a blast with his guest. I'm probably going to watch it another 30-100 times in the future, because the camaraderie, content and excitement was infectious. This is my most favorite Crappie fishing video ever!

I am 70 yrs old and have never seen crappie like this caught before. No dinks..just all slabs. This was the fishin trip of dreams. Mr.Russ has produced an amazing fishery and is to be congratulated. This was true entertainment. Best video yet. Now who got to clean them?

Derek I know you have some good fish stories. What is your biggest crappie or bass out of that lake.
The largest one that I landed was a 5lb bass. Now one of my cousins caught a 15lb bass out of that lake. It is mounted in his house now.. The monster that broke the line on the big ol bobber, that is a sterile carp that my grandfather put in the lake 20+ years ago. He put 15 or 20 of them in there to keep the grass down that grows under the water. You can catch a glimpse of them every once and a while and it looks like the freaking Lock Ness monster.

I used to have a private pawn behind my parents house that was just like this where we used whole brim as bait and the big bass would attack on every time, probably 10 pounders, lots of fun, i really miss it.

I bet you anything a white beetle spin would do great in that pond. Every time I've been in a body of water with a lot of large crappie, the first thing I pull from my box is a white beetle spin and the second thing I'll pull is a white rooster tail first. It mimics the fish fry of crappy and bass and those large crappy and bass will tear it all to pieces, give it a shot next time! Good luck out there!

my gf is walking distance to a golf course pond that is insane. we caught 120 fish in an hour. large bass, crappie, and bluegills. every cast every time

Super Great Crappie Lake! I lost a Big one yesterday crappie fishing on an Ultralight 6 Lb. Test and a big Stripe grabbed my minnow at the boat and the fight was on he took 100 ft of line out before he really knew he was hooked and when I finally got him close to the boat and got a net near him he straightened the hook and said Later! I loved the fight but I wish I could say for sure that I knew how much it weighed but truth is it was over 10 lb for sure. GREAT Video, Thanks for sharing.
