I’m a recent convert to hammocks, I love them. I must say, an under quilt/blanket is a must. Even on a warm day the mornings can be chilly and your back will get cold. Also it’s worth pointing out that if you are a side sleeper you can still very comfortably sleep on your side in a hammock, especially with a diagonal lay. Thanks for the video Scott. Nice one. 👍🏻
Good video, mate. This hammock is massive once your in it, ive got one. I cut 3 sticks with little ‘v’ sections at each end and place them between the mozzy net cords to hold it spread wider open. Only about a foot or so in length, it keeps the netting held apart and further away from you. Iv just made my mate watch your video to prove how simple the set up is. Thanks again Andy from Wigan
Live in Florida so the hammock is a no brainer, Would like to see a vid on application of the cocoon, the quilt and under blanket, as they apply to jungle hammock.
Nice one mate I got my self a hammock after seeing your review on the tropical and I love it so much better than a tent. I'm out for two nights this weekend in it
I kept the paracord on for the novelty of it. I own a few hammocks and i use whoopie slings with my own DIY tree straps but I'm digging the extra beefy paracord Snugpak are using here. People say it stretches but these are folks assuming because they clearly haven't ever used the jungle hammock as it has never stretched for me.
great review of the jungle hammock buddy ;) the tip for spreading the net with two sticks & arrow notches has worked very well for me so far. this was the first bit of snugpak gear i got, now i have lot & lots of their kit, top quality stuff dude, keep up this style of reviews, i'd like to see you in a scorpion tent or bunker one day ;) peace
Got to save up for them mate... 😂😂 thanks man really appreciate your great comments... Love my hammocks, i think my 1 st bit was tropical hammock. Thanks mate yeah the arrow nooks work well. Hopefully going to do a tip video.. Hope youre well mate
What length would you make a structural ridge line for this hammock mate? I am planning on using this hammock in the colder months upside down with the cocoon but not sure on what 83% is of the total length. Jungle hammock is listed as 275cm in length, is this the length I need to take the SRL from?
Good review mate. My only gripe with the hammock is the bug net, it’s way to flimsy and easily torn. Not sure why they didn’t run a central ridge line under it. Swapped the carabiners on mine too as the supplied ones have sharp edges. Apart from that for the money it’s a great bit of kit
Yeah i just wanted to show what you get when you buy... without any swaps. I use daisy chains now instead of the paracord ones etc. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
I'm a big fan of snugpack gear, I use this very hammock with a few upgrades as well as their underblacket and 3 season sleeping bag, all of which are decent gear for the money
@@dandyman5609 not many, I've upgraded the ridge lines and I use tree huggers as well, I've been planning on buying a wider one for a while... so it on the list!
Just a tip for folks watching this. Order yourself a pair of ultralight DMM aluminium climbing carabiners and this is a fantastic, budget friendly, strong hammock for beginners and day camps. Remove snugpacks stainless steel biners as they weigh more than the entire hammock it's self. Obviously if you're car camping that's a non issue.
Officially its ling enough when coupled to go around a tree and back through. But there are simpler ways. Using a Structural ridge line between carabiners and running through the bug net loops.
Hi mate I use the Snugpak all weather shelter in diamond formation. 3x3 tarp but in diamond gives yiu 4.3m head coverage. Then pin the two ends in together for a more enclosed feeling. Watch the i took tink hammocking video
I have the snugpak cocoon hammock, is it possible to use the cocoon over the jungle hammock to keep warm an have some privacy etc.....? I'm getting this jungle hammock in a few weeks. Cheers
Hi Dave the only way i could see the cocoon going over the jungle hamkock is with the mosquito net dropped unfortunately. Ill give it a go.... and see what i can come up with mate.
@@OscarOutdoors22 wirelessgo.rode.com/ They are not the cheapest but work brilliantly. One end goes on your DSLR / Cellphone / Osmo Pocket / GoPro etc and the other end is a clip on. Perfect audio every time. I love mine
I’m not so sure about this. I don’t like the dual ridge line and the fact it doesn’t have a structural ridge line. Get the kompound from Onetigris and some 7/64 Amsteel. Watch a video on how to make a continuous loop and structural ridge line. Replace the ridge line and continuous loops. Do that and you’ll have a far superior hammock for the same money. It also has better carabiners and tree straps. Edit: You can even get fancy and make a whoopie sling ridge line that is adjustable. All for the same price and you will have acquired a skill.
This is the only piece of snugpak equipment I have and its great,
Don't tell oex I said that's
I wont if you dont... lol...
English Woodsman No, don’t tell them that, you’ll loose all that sponsoring and all the OEX freebies you keep getting! 🤣😂😄
🤣🤣🤣🤣 nice one Dan
.. looking forward to the next adventure mate.

Yeah definitely mate i use a cocoon can open it up on warm mornings and obviously 'cocoon' yourself on cold one.
Thanks for watching mate.
To be honest, I've never tried a cocoon. I think I'm a bit broad at the shoulder to fit them comfortably. I have to be choosy with sleeping bags too!
Wait for my review its filmed but not live yet. Pm me on facebook

That's what I do Andy. Do it with the frontline too and then you don't need the weight of the spreader poles.
Cheers Andy

Good tips and points there my friend. Never stretched for me either. Did cut through it once whilst swinging violently but thats another story!
Will be upgrading my hammock next year, will definitely consider the snugpak pal, another great video 👌👍
Thanks mate appreciate that. And yeah the Snugpak gear is fab
