Thanks Marvel, apparently they are supposed to pull the train by electric till Kimberley and by diesel from Kimberley (Ronaldvlie) till Beaufort West by diesel. The second locomotive that was on diesel mode was overheating apparently while on electric mode hence they had to put it back on diesel mode... From there they decided to refuel due to the fact that they had one locomotive in diesel mode. A few times while waiting on CTC to respond they kept on lifting the pantos to see if they wont pull them to Ronaldvlie..
Usually when they come in to the station the staff has to get off first to prepare the red carpet for the guests, so they would stop the crew coach right Infront of the museum door once they got everything out of the train, it moves a bit forward
Thanks for the video. Just a, quick question did the first loco pull the whole train or did the second Loco assist in diesel mode. Only the lead locos panto graph were up
I've never seen or heard the class 38s in electric mode until this video.I wonder why it took them so long to refuel. Nice work👏🏾

Thanks buddy 🙏🏿
Hi, thanks for the great videos. Is the only "historic" coach in the RVR trainset the ex-NRZ clerestory coach in the middle?
Yes that's the one....
Great video brother, loving the 38Es
Thanks Bongs 🙏🏿
Why the forward shunting ?

Transnet has a train for killing weeds. I don't know if it's only based in Cape Town only or there are others in other provinces.

They both performed. The other one was on diesel mode the other one was in electric mode
I agree about sickening weeds, can the station manager please do something to preserve the beaty of iconic Sick 😢
Weeds between the tracks are sickening to see...
