      Cool man, good to know, I'll have to watch that one. Sounds like a good place to have one of those mobile hotspot devices, there's one called Solis that has been recommended. Although I'm not sure how it works, if it uses cell signals then maybe it's still slow there anyway. Whenever I turn my phone into a hotspot here in Greece to get internet it's super slow.

    • @IndigoTraveller
      @IndigoTraveller  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hotspot is fast if your provider is fast that's all it depends on. If you use mobile wifi in Ethiopia it will most likely still be slow but worth a shot I guess!

I loveeee the eastern vibe and am itching to go to Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan, particularly. I think the scariest part for me is vlogging in public...of all things, I just can't bring myself to do it as it it feels sooo weird talking to myself. I am learning a lot from you! David Armitage yea it’s crazy that people don’t realize just how much culture is hidden in this place. There’s a reason Ethiopians are specifically mentioned in the Bible. The Entire area was at the center of African development for a long time and its one of the few countries not to be officially colonized. If you want to see some true African cities you should look at Somalia. I wouldn’t recommend visiting but they have some of unique styles as well.

    As always , this was awesome! Lots of folks I know go to All Inclusive Resorts nearby and think that they have visited Mexico . Not until you do like you are doing here ! One of my fondest memories here was of a trip across town a new friend took us on in the back of a horse drawn cart. Not one of those passenger deals, but a real farm cart. He was taking us to meet the lady I would eventually buy this property from and she reminds me every time I see her that I arrived in a farm cart, so she had to listen to me , and even though she was reluctant to , she sold me this place we live in !

      It is easier in the sense of communicating but definitely meet up with family down there. This was a couple years back since I went but I remember my experience being around 15-16 a lot of the habesha men in the predominant area's where all the guys hang out would be very disrespectful (but it's the norm for them) to grab you if needed and all that. Its funny how you always troll your hair xD the quiff is cute!
    The awkwardness about shoe cleaning is a cultural thing it seems. Different cultures arent so uptight about it, so no need to feel bad. Many people wouldnt think twice about letting a hotel wash their underwear yet they think its awkward to let a person clean the tops of their shoes!

    I love the random approach you always take with deciding what to do and see as it lends a sense of adventure for me, experiencing Ethiopia vicariously. What would I give to come there and teach English for a year! I'm seeing this country through your lease so I'm truly a dedicated viewer! Also, I would love to see what kind of camera harness/support you use as i'd like to use this for my travels. Might you please give a shot of what this is? You seem to have it on your left arm? hand? It's not on your s shoulder so what exactly is it?????

    Great little flick man, I like seeing other travellers also chatting to locals and getting in touch with them, not just sitting in their hotel compound 👍

    Brother. I’m going to strongly assume that you read my comment on the last video and the many comments to my comment. Just want to thank you for making a trip to the castles. Thanks for showing some different dimensions. Honestly I understand your focus on ‘locals and real life’ however I hope that showcasing some of Ethiopia’s rich history was as interesting for you as it was for us as viewers. Next time you’re in Addis let’s grab a coffee and I can show you some greats spots. Cultural, historical and local fascinating spots that many don’t see. Happy travels bro.

    I was just looking at Google maps and there's a hostel in Gondar called Yohannes Guest House that's only $9 a night. Looks quite clean.

    !as usual you never fail time deliver Nick, loved the street excursion and the castle. I get a wee bit apprehensive because when you're taping I notice some of the locals sizing you up, never know what the are thinking but so far so good. Great work Nick.

      I think most of them are just surprised to see a white foreigner in their city.
      It's probably extremely uncommon so they seem to be really interested and shocked
